I. Metshin visited the Children's in-patient department at the City Clinical Hospital №18

(Kazan City KZN.RU, December 30, Zilya Gayfi). Today day of the young patients at the Children's in-patient department of the City Hospital №18 began with the bright New Year holiday. Santa Claus and Snow Maiden, accompanied by other mythical figures, showed the kids performance with dances, songs and presentation of gifts. Mayor Ilsur Metshin also congratulated children with Happy New Year.

Together with the head of the city Children's hospital was visited by Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Social Affairs Natalia Grechannikova, Head of Administration of the Sovietsky district Rustem Gafarov, head of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan Ilnur Halfiev, the chief doctor of the Central City Hospital №18 Rustem Bakirov.

Children's in-patient department of the City Clinical Hospital №18 at street Zorge, 2a includes three departments: pediatric with 50 places, pulmonology for 40 places and neuropsychiatric department for 30 places. Neuropsychiatric department for children without parental care aged from 1 month to 5 years is the only medical institution in the city, where most socially vulnerable children are hospitalized - children from dysfunctional families, found on the streets or abandoned by mothers in maternity hospitals. In the hospital date of birth, name are assigned to the children, new documents are created.

As the experience of the department shows, in Kazan annually 20-25 mothers refuse from their babies for domestic reasons. To date, 23 children, abandoned by their parents, found a temporary shelter in a hospital, including 6 infants and 17 children up to 4 years. Ilsur Metshin inspected facilities for infants and older children, games room. According to the staff of a hospital, children ask for toys at the New Year's. But, of course, loving and caring family is the main gift for abandoned children.

Ilsur Metshin inquired about the further destiny of patients - both the process of rehabilitation and adoption of children. As the head of the department Tatiana Moroz told, there are children "without status" in the hospital, who cannot be adopted now. Often children come with prenatal pathology, chronic eating disorders and congenital malformations. After treatment and documentation children are transferred to the orphanage, some of them are sent home or transferred to the adoptive family.

New Year's performance was organized for young hospital patients today. Santa Claus, in role of who the chairman of the Committee on Children and Youth Sergei Mironov was, as well as the Snow Maiden and heroes of fairy tales staged a performance with dances, songs and poems for children. Children participated in the festival with great pleasure and sincerely delighted gifts – sweets from the Mayor’s Office were handed to young patients. Ilsur Metshin congratulated children on coming New Year and wished them a speedy recovery and to get a family soon.
