Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan appreciated the new building of the Republican Oncology Center

(Kazan City KZN.RU, August 29). Acting President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov today examined new building of the Republican Clinical Oncology Center at st. Sibirsky Tract, 31 after a total overhaul. Rustam Minnikhanov was accompanied by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Tatatrstan Asgat Safarov, Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Adel Vafin, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin and others.

 In March of 2015 Oncology Center of RT had its 50^th anniversary. Previously the main building was at st. Baturin. In 2013 Rustam Minnikhanov has decided to replace RCOC in a building of the former 15th Kazan City Hospital at st. Sibirsky Tract, 31. Since then, the preparations to move into the building of the former Emergency Hospital began, it has undergone to significant reconstruction.

 Today Rustam Minnikhanov acquainted with the results of a major overhaul. During the inspection he was informed that all necessary conditions for both patients and medical staff have been created in the new building. On the ground floor of a large organized diagnostic unit there are: ultrasound department, radiology department, CT office, department of interventional radiology, endoscopy department to perform painless endoscopy, i.e. colonoscopy, gastroscopy, bronchoscopy under general anesthesia with the further deployment of the patient to recovery room. Also there the first in Tatarstan interventional radiology oncology department will be opened, which holds a fluoroscopy, ultrasound and endoscopic navigation. The main activity of department is endovascular manipulations under angiographic control.

 On the second, third and fourth floors surgical departments are located - department of general oncology, department of the soft tissue and musculoskeletal system, department of head and neck tumors №2, two gynecological cancer and mammology departments.

 On the fifth floor modern operating and intensive care rooms are situated.

After the inspection of premises Rustam Minnikhanov met with doctors. He thanked the staff for their work and noted that they have an important mission. "People with cancer have small chances of recovery. But thanks to you, your skills and professionalism they find new hope. They can enjoy life again, to be close to their loved ones, to go to work. It's all thanks to you, "- said Rustam Minnikhanov, referring to employees of Oncology Center.

 He added that the new facility meets all requirements and will be opened soon. There are some minor remarks, but improvements will be made as soon as possible, said the Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov said that he is ready to continue to assist employees of RCOC, the press service of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan says.
