Renovated Boratynsky estate opened in Kazan

(Kazan City KZN.RU, August 29). Today renovated Boratynsky estate opened in Kazan. The opening and presentation of the new exhibition "Dusk and dawn of Boratynsky house " in the main estate was attended by the Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, Assistant to the President of RT Olesya Baltusova, Minister of Culture Ayrat Sibagatullin, Chairman of RT State Committee for Tourism Sergey Ivanov and others.

Guests had a tour of the main house and the main exhibits were presented to them, according to the portal of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. Restoration of the Boratynsky house, which is over 200 years old, began four years ago. At work they managed to save more than 80% of wooden structures, columns and unique stucco with coat of arms at the White Ballroom of Boratynsky, to open the classical enfilade space of the house. According to a senior researcher of the museum of E.A.Boratynsky - a branch of the National Museum of Tatarstan Elena Skvortsova, reconstruction work will be continued.

It is planned to conduct cultural and educational activities in the Boratynsky estate. So, in addition to guided tours for tourists and guests of Kazan it is expected to hold soirees here every month.

Summary

Boratynsky Estate is a monument of architecture and history of federal significance and refers to the unique preserved complex of wooden architecture of the late civil XVIII - early XIX centuries. It was constructed for the Countess V.Apraksina in the 30s of XIX century. Famous Kazan architect F.I.Petondi set his hand to the formation of its external appearance, and then in the late 1860s N.E.Boratynsky, the son of the great poet E.A.Boratynsky, a friend of Pushkin, significantly rebuilt it.
