An application of Kazan to host “WorldSkills-2019" will be presented in Sao Paulo

(Kazan City KZN.RU, August 10). Today in Sao Paulo a presentation of the final application of Kazan to host the World Cup of professional excellence «WorldSkills Competition-2019" will take place. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin is a part of delegation of Tatarstan capital in the General Assembly «WorldSkills International» in Sao Paulo.

The delegation also included the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, head of the Executive Committee Igor Sivov, deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan on economic development Ivan Kuznetsov and other officials.

According Ilsur Metshin, the capital of Tatarstan joined the global movement «WorldSkills» three years ago and has accumulated extensive experience in specialized championships. "The “WorldSkills” championship is what our young people need. Now we are seeing the greatest interest in the competition from the young people, the business community and the government. More than 40% of the population of Kazan are young people aged up to 30 years old, more than 150 thousand students live in the city. We have an effective working system to support innovation, which includes the Technopark "Idea", technopolis "Himgrad", that attract the best young professionals from many regions of our country and from abroad. Our work aims to promote the working skills and provide a good choice of future career for young people ", - said the Mayor of Kazan.

In January 2015, Russia submitted a preliminary application to the secretariat «WorldSkills International» of intent to participate in the competition to host the world championship of professional skills «WorldSkills Competition» in 2019 in Kazan. The Board of Directors of «WorldSkills International» has taken a positive decision on the law of the Russian Federation to submit its application to the General Assembly WSI in August 2015. Paris and the Belgian city of Charleroi will make competition to Kazan.

Secret ballot will take place as a result of consideration of applications; it will be attended by one delegate from each country - full member of WSI. The winner and the future owner of the championship «Worldskills Competition-2019" will be determined by majority of votes.
