(Kazan City KZN.RU, August 9). 120 thousand tourists visited Kazan during FINA World Cup. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin told this to TASS.
"We set the high bar – to receive 100 thousand tourists together with the Masters competition. To date, we have received 120 thousand tourists, and with the Masters we expect a figure of 150-170 thousand, - said I. Metshin. - That is, we have exceeded our excessive plans. Hotel occupancy was about 90-95%. Several teams and tourists have been very capricious, but our hoteliers have coped with everything and showed Russian hospitality. Some even worked at a loss, but fulfilled all wishes".
Ilsur Metshin also noted that all the guests and the leadership of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) give the highest score to the level of organization of the World Cup. "The government has fulfilled a great job, we will sum up the results later. But we are happy with the work that has been carried out. FINA management, competitors and visitors give highest rating to the organization, "- said the Mayor of Kazan.
