(KZN.RU, October 25, Elena Chembaeva). Today is the last and final day of National Population Census. About 60 thousand people or 6% has to be rewritten in Kazan. Valery Kandilov, the Head of Tatarstanstat has announced it on today’s "business Monday" in the City Hall.
“We have been prepared for this for 2, 5 years and the census last for 12 days, today it is completed. We have another 4 days to clarify difficult points, pass over stations where people could not be found. As always in big cities census is more complex than in rural areas. About 15 districts have already finished with a score of 100 percent. About 60 thousand people have to be rewritten that is about 6 percent of the population. The motto of this census is "Russia is important for everyone". We have to fight for every inhabitant of Kazan ", V. Kandil said.
Valery Kandil listed the main problems arising from Kazan enumerators. First of all the cottages, the private sector, dormitories, shabby houses, the municipal sector where it is difficult to find people, new buildings, where people have issued housing but do not live there. There are problems in the villages. Particularly this year during the census 3 cases of dog bites of enumerators have already recorded. Fortunately the workers were insured. The census takers refused to go to the private sector because it is unsafe.
According to the Head of the Tatarstanstat there are also difficulties with the staff. Large number of the census takers that is about 40 percent are teachers. "It was assumed that they will be released from the main job during the census. However even on weekends we have a problem with the teaching staff", V. Kandil said.
"We have one day. I would like all the services, and the heads of administration be involved in this case. In general the process is quite successful, and if we make a final spurt we will not have problems with the census", V. Kandil said.
"The work is done grateful but the 6 per cent should not be unrecorded. All questions must be solved using all force", Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan commented.
