The big cyber football weekend ended in Kazan. For three days, two tournaments of the Premier League championship passed, several dozen matches were held, and many prizes were played. Only on the Internet, 2 million people looked at the Kazan Mayor's Cup on cyber football.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the city, personally opened the Kazan Mayor’s Cup-2017. Initially, many expected to see the Mayor at the denouement of the tournament and at the awards ceremony. But I. Metshin decided personally to instruct all participants of the Kazan tournament.
“We are opening a new page in the life of our Russian football”, he said to the participants and fans. The Mayor of Kazan noted that a huge number of not only children but also adults around the world are playing football on a game console, and they all bound by the love for football.
“We all also played table football when we were children. The technologies are moving forward. And this tournament is not something new but the well forgotten old”, continued I. Metshin. The head of the city also expressed hope that the competitions will become traditional and noted that it is planned to hold the first world championship in cyber football in Kazan among the teams-participants of the World Cup in 2018.
