(KZN.RU, February 28, Ekaterina Andreeva) In July this year, Kazan and Tatarstan will host not only a major sports competition, but also an important cultural event. "Such an event as the Universiade is not to be missed," opined Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin on the TV program “Topic”.
The mayor said that the city was entering the final stage of the main construction work. After that, much work on beautification and clean-up of the city will have to be done.
“Such an event is not to be missed,” said the mayor. “I cannot talk about all the details of the opening ceremony, but I'm sure that this will be an unforgettable sight. Everybody's welcome! It'll be great fun. This historic event will be remembered for a lifetime.”
