(KZN.RU, January 28, by Renat Shirmanov) Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin shared his impressions of the 2013 Univerisade Torch Relay opening ceremony. The mayor noted its high organizational level and expressed the hope that the flame of the World Student Games will shed its benevolent light on the capital of Tatarstan.
“The Universiade Flame repeated the round-the-world trip of famous explorers and reached South Korea, where its progress was interrupted by a storm. However, the crew of the sailing ship Sedov brought the torch to Vladivostok, where it landed on Russian soil. I hope it will shed its benevolent light on all of us,” said Ilsur Metshin.
