The construction of pumping station №5 on Vasilchenko Street in Kazan is underway

The construction of the new facility is scheduled to
be completed in May 2025, and it will start operating in the next heating
season. The Mayor Ilsur Metshin, who inspected the facility, emphasized the
importance of the pumping station of the main heating line – 11 for the Kirovsky
and Moskovsky city districts.
According to Askhat Shakhanov,
Director of Kazan Heating Networks, 352 apartment buildings in Kirovsky and
Moskovsky city districts are connected to main heating line – 11. A number of
these buildings are not equipped with automated weather control units, so heat
distribution in these houses is carried out using elevators. During peak
temperatures of -20 to -25 degrees, these devices do not provide enough heating
water to residential buildings, causing the batteries to cool down. The launch
of the new pumping station will improve heat supply parameters for consumers
whose buildings are equipped with autdated weather control systems.
The district is being developed
with residential buildings, which will increase the number of energy consumers
on the main heating line – 11. However, it is not possible to expand the
diameter of the heating pipe. Therefore, it was decided to construct a new pumping
station № 5.
«This is an important facility
for the urban economy and for Kazan residents. Residents only start to
understand the need for such a system when the heat becomes less. This station
will be crucial for the Kirovsky and Moskovsky city districts, where there have
been many complaints about the lack of heat from residents of Yagodnaya
Sloboda. The commissioning of this station will help improve the heat supply. A
lot of work has been done already. We are looking forward to launching it
together with the residents», – said the Mayor.
The pumping station № 5 is located on the return
pipeline, which serves to return the cooled coolant back to the heating device for
heating. The station has four pumping units, each with a capacity of 2,500
cubic meters per hour and a water column head of 55 meters. The pumping
equipment has a lifespan of 20 to 30 years.
Tatenergo AO aims to purchase machinery and components
of domestic manufacturers. Therefore, the pumping equipment was produced in
Yekaterinburg, automation was brought in from the Moscow region, and software
is being developed by TatAisEnergo OOO.
To date, construction of the facility is 75% complete.
The installation of automation, engineering systems, and electrical equipment
is underway. The construction is scheduled to be completed in May 2025, and the
facility will start operating in the next heating season.
The director of Kazan
Heating Networks has added that in order to connect new facilities to the heat
supply system in 2025, it is planned to loop the main heating line – 11: «We
are starting work this year. We will go out onto Kulakhmetov Street, down
Batyrshina Street and Yagodnaya Sloboda, and then onto Vakhitova Street. This
will create a ring to ensure a reliable heat supply for residents».
