"Tinsmith's day" possible in Kazan this week
(KZN.RU, October 23, by Alisa Rozanova) First black ice, which, according to weather forecasts, may occur in Kazan this week, will be a test for municipal services. This opinion was expressed by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin today at an onsite meeting of the Urban Development municipal authority.
"The past year has shown that with proper organization we can cope with street cleaning. This year, 24 thousand new cars have appeared in the city, the road congestion has increased; therefore, we should be ready to face "tinsmith's day" and subsequent snowfalls,” said the mayor.
The municipal authority is located on ul.Grivskaya and is resposible for Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts. There are 74 units of snow removal equipment in these areas, including road combines on "ZIL" and “KAMAZ” chassis and Swiss -made “Boshung” vehicles: Snoubusters, compact “Ponies” with winter and summer attachments and “Boshung -KAMAZ” vehicles.
Ilsur Metshin recalled that “Boshung” had insisted that their units on the "KAMAZ" chassis be equipped with plows. Our weather conditions and the roads are very different from European ones, said the Mayor, and in the nearest future, more powerful rotating brushes will be istalled on the "Boshung-KAMAZ" vehicles.
