Kazan deputies immortalize Tufan Minullin
(KZN.RU, October 24, by Ekaterina Andreyeva) A number of streets will be renamed in the capital of Tatarstan. Lukovski, Menzelinskaya and Zadne-Khadi Taktash streets of Kazan's Vakhitovsky district will be named “Tufan Minullin Uramy - Tufan Minnullin Street”. This decision was taken by the members of the 17th session of Kazan City Hall.
This will perpetuate the memory of Tufan Abdullovich Minnullin, prominent Tatar playwright, novelist, essayist, statesman and public figure, who has made a significant contribution to the development of Kazan and Tatarstan.
“This year, we have suffered a great loss - Tufan Abdullovich Minullin has passed away,” said Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. “He was a patriot of our city and the Republic.”
City Hall supported the mayor's initiative to perpetuate the memory of the playwright; the State Council also supported it.
