Muslims to celebrate Eid al-Adha this week
Venues for holiday services and ritual sacrifices will be specified in Kazan.
(KZN.RU, October 22, by Alisa Rozanova) On Thursday, October 25, Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha – Kurban Bairam, which marks the end of pilgrimage to Mecca.
A total of 48 mosques operate in Kazan. In keeping with the order approved by Tatarstan's Muslim administration, holiday prayers shall begin with morning namaz at 6:30 am, at 7:15 am a holiday sermon shall be held and at in 8:00 am - Gaete-prayer.
Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin instructed all those involved to attend to the issues related to the organization of the Muslim holiday, including transportation and law enforcement.
