The first
renovation of the Millennium Park is being completed since its opening in 2005.
Instead of the previous metal fence, a green fence with a length of about 850
meters with a new automatic irrigation system was installed in the park. In
total, almost 35 thousand flowers and shrubs, trees will be planted, and a turf
grass will be laid. Today, as part of the work of the operational committee on preparation
for the BRICS events, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of work
in the public space, and also visited the nearby Bilyar Palace Hotel, where a
presidential suite is being prepared for the summit with the participation of
heads of different states.
The old
metal fence in the Millennium Park was dismantled due to unsatisfactory
condition.
Instead of
a fence around the park, a green fence will be installed. In addition, more
than 31 thousand summer flowers, 3,700 bushes, 10 linden and cedar trees will
be planted in the park. Now employees of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise
Gorvodzelenkhoz plant flowers. Alongside, the laying of a turf grass continues
– its total area will be 48 thousand square meters. An automatic irrigation
system was installed along the new fence.
For almost
20 years of operation of the park, utilities, as well as lighting elements,
benches and urns have deteriorated. The utilities were renewed, 24 supports
were restored, 89 lamps were later installed in them, and outdoor furniture and
inventory were replaced with 150 small architectural forms.
According
to the requests of the citizens, granite tiles were updated. The workers first
sandblasted the coating, and then laid a tile with a total area of 7,800 square
meters on a new concrete base.
The
fountain was renovated as well. The granite coating of the structure has been
updated, the figures of the dragons that were vandalized have been restored.
All work in
the park is scheduled to be completed by June 10.
The
four–star Bilyar Palace Hotel, located opposite Millennium Park, is preparing a
presidential suite with an area of more than 150 square meters for the BRICS Summit.
In addition, 13 rooms - nine luxe and four deluxe - will be overhauled for international
events. In total, 122 rooms with 240 beds will be available to guests at Bilyar
Palace. Currently, the average load is 80%.
The
presidential suite will be organized by combining two suites on the ninth floor.
When designing the rooms, they were equipped with: an entrance hall, a guest
bathroom, an office, a bedroom with a separate bathroom, a dining room, a
kitchen and an office for meetings or recreation. For security reasons, only a
guest of the presidential suite will be able to use one of the elevators in the
building.
The
Millennium conference hall has also been completely renovated in the hotel, it
will accommodate almost 200 people. Previously, the hall with an area of 160
square meters was designed for 140 guests. As part of the overhaul, lighting
and sound equipment have been updated, conferences and receptions are planned
to be held in the hall.
