For the first time since the implementation of the Our Yard republican
program, the largest territory with coverage of seven thousand residents will
be improved in Kazan. Work on the territory on Khadi Taktasha st., N.
Nazarbayeva st. and Salimzhanova st. is carried out comprehensively, taking
into account the Tatar theater building under construction nearby. Presently,
the landscaping has been completed by 60%, and it is planned to complete the
work in summer. Today, the progress of the work was inspected by the Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
There are 33 residential buildings in the block, in which 7,169 people
live, as well as two schools and three kindergartens. This year, landscaping under
the “Our Yard” program in this block will be carried out in the yards of 24
residential buildings.
“Work has begun in the block on Kh.Taktasha Street, where 24 apartment
buildings are being landscaped at once. This is the largest Kazan territory
under the “Our Yard” program. Seven thousand local residents will see the
improvement. A new pedestrian way will appear here,”- said Ilsur Metshin, Mayor
of Kazan.
Twelve playgrounds with a sandy surface of 2,500 square meters, 6 sports
grounds with workout equipment and dynamic simulators will be installed in the yards.
There will also be streetball courts, recreation areas for the elderly, and
household playgrounds.
A special feature of the territory will be the largest house-adjacent
recreational area, where a stage with spectator seats for activities will be
installed.
A new asphalt concrete pavement with an area of 20,800 square meters
will be laid on the territory of the block. Ninety-six additional parking
spaces will be equipped for residents. As the head of the Vakhitovsky and
Privolzhsky districts Albert Salikhov noted that according to the requests of
citizens 226 outdoor lighting poles and 370 new small architectural forms will
be installed in the block.
For the first time, sidewalks safe for schoolchildren will be laid as
part of the “Road to School” pilot project in Russia. There are two schools and
three kindergartens in the neighborhood. Previously, the pedestrian sidewalks
were about 900 meters long – they will be repaired. Additionally, another 5 km
of new paved paths will be laid. During the design, all the walking routes of
local residents were analyzed.
“When we met with residents,
there was a discussion of people’s trails that have been leading to schools and
kindergartens for decades, but there are no sidewalks. The beginning has been
made, we decided at the Kazanysh architectural forum to launch the “Road to
School” pilot project taking into account the established routes of children
and parents,”- Ilsur Metshin said.
The improvement work began in early April, and the site is 60% ready. It
is planned to complete the landscaping in summer.
