(KZN.RU, August 30, by Ekaterina Andreeva) Success of Rubin Football Club on the international arena raises the prestige of Kazan. This was stated by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at a City Hall ceremony honoring notable citizens.
The mayor especially noted one of the honored citizens of Kazan – Rubin’s permanent coach Kurban Berdyev. “On August 25, Kurban Bekievich marked a wonderful jubilee," reminded I.Metshin.
The mayor stressed that Rubin’s success on the international arena raises the prestige of Kazan. “Thanks to this we are able to achieve new victories. For example, when we were fighting for the right to host the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, the capital of Tatarstan was recognized as the winner of the Barcelona match 2-1," added I.Metshin.
On behalf of all Rubin fans, who live in and out of Kazan and Tatarstan, the Mayor gave Kurban Berdiev a cup with an inscription wishing him “happiness, good health and new victories for beloved Rubin ".
