In June, the onco-hematology
unit of Kazan City Clinical Hospital No.16, located in the second block of the
medical institution, will admit its first patients after the renovation. Single
and double wards with an individual bathroom and a separate ventilation system
are provided for them. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, got acquainted with
the progress of renovation.
The head of the
city noted that today the renovation is underway in three municipal clinics – the
Hospital for War Veterans, City Hospitals No.2 and No.16. “We are carrying out
a comprehensive renovation, and in addition to the overhaul, the necessary
medical equipment and furniture will be purchased for these hospitals”, - the
Mayor said.
Hospital No.16
is a multipurpose medical institution, which comprises a hospital, a
polyclinic, a women's consultation and a maternity hospital for 110 people.
More than 56 thousand people are registered at the hospital. Today 904 employees
work here.
The hospital on
Gagarin Street was built in 1979. The large-scale reconstruction of the medical
facility began 5 years ago. In 2017, the polyclinic and antenatal clinic were
overhauled, which comprises prenatal diagnostics and the center for
thrombodynamics for pregnant women.
Two years later,
in 2019, the hospital underwent reconstruction and overhaul of a food unit, in
which the city outpatient center for otorhinolaryngology and pulmonology was
subsequently opened.
This year, work
is being carried out in the second building of the hospital. The Mayor of Kazan
informed that the work is being carried out in stages, since this is a large
facility. “We will create comfortable conditions for doctors and patients, we
will purchase new medical equipment, the installation of which was impossible
in the previous conditions”, - the head of the city said.
In the second
building of the hospital, there is the only outpatient center of onco-hematology
in the city. Ilsur Metshin inspected the renovated premises.
Vladimir
Belyakov, chief physician of the hospital, told Ilsur Metshin that at the first
stage of the reconstruction of the second building, the repair of the roof with
an area of more than 900 sq.m was completed. “Workers have replaced all utilities,
now work is being completed in the CT-scan room, which will open in the center
of onco-hematology thanks to the support of Tatarstan President”, - Vladimir
Belyakov said.
All wards will
be separated, so patients will not be in contact with each other. In addition,
an individual ventilation system is provided in the onco-hematology unit after
the renovation in each ward. “The design of the unit is really unique, - added
Vladimir Zhavoronkov, Deputy Minister of Health of Tatarstan – Patients with low
immune function will be accommodated here, and any bacterial infection can lead
to irreparable consequences. Therefore, this unit provides single and double wards
with an individual bathroom and a separate ventilation system”.
The Mayor of
Kazan asked about the supply of imported equipment. Vladimir Belyakov assured
the Mayor that all medical equipment would be delivered immediately after the
completion of interior works.
At the end of
his visit, the Mayor of Kazan inspected the polyclinic building, which is
adjacent to the hospital. The head of the city looked around a new MRT device.
“Thanks to your support, Ilsur Raisovich, an MRT office will finally start
working in the polyclinic, which will be able to help thousands of Kazan
residents”, - Vladimir Belyakov said.
