The Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the Tatar-English gymnasium No.16 on Dubravnaya
Street, where the renovation was carried out in summer. By the beginning of the
school year, the canteen was renovated, which allowed to increase the capacity
by 80 additional seats, gyms and primary school classrooms were renovated as
well. “It is very important that individual approach was implemented at the
gymnasium during the renovation and interior design. Designers work together
with teaching staff and high school students. Thanks to this, each school has
its own unique features”, - the head of the city noted.
In the four-storey school building with an area of more than 10 thousand
sq.m, built in 1997, work began in June with the repair of the catering unit.
Electrical work was carried out in the dining room, ceilings and flooring were
updated, walls were repaired, ventilation was replaced, and most importantly,
the canteen was expanded, thanks to which the capacity increased from 120 to
204 seats. This made it possible to improve the quality of catering for
students.
The Mayor visited the canteen and talked with the students. Schoolchildren
in a conversation with I.Metshin noted that the canteen has changed
significantly after the renovation: now the canteen is bright and cozy.
After the catering unit, the head of the city visited the gyms, which were
also renovated this year. New lighting elements were installed and the floors
were painted in the small sports hall. Electrical work was carried out in the main
gym, window blocks, floors were replaced, and walls were painted. I.Metshin appreciated
the quality of the work carried out. “Children will love to play sports in such
a gym, it will promote a healthy lifestyle”, - he noted.
In addition to the catering unit and gyms, the entrance group was
renovated, as well as the block of primary classes. Ramps were installed at the
entrance, and the walls were decorated with composite panels. Ceilings, walls
and window blocks have been replaced in the lobby, recreation areas have been designed
there. As a result, a spacious lobby has been created, where schoolchildren
like to spend their time after lessons. During a charity fair, primary school
students sell their crafts and handmade goods, collected money were directed to
animal shelter.
During the renovation, doors and windows were replaced, walls and flooring
were updated in the primary school block, which is located on the ground floor.
“Kazan is actively renovating educational institutions – both schools and
kindergartens. This year we have renovated 43 canteens and 19 gyms, - the Mayor
stressed. – This is a big deal, atmosphere created in educational institutions
is very important for schoolchildren. We must provide high-quality education
and at the same time create comfortable learning conditions for children.
Therefore, we will continue renovation and construction of schools and kindergartens
for children”.
