I.Metshin: “The architecture of the city has become more interesting and clearer”

Today the working group on the construction and reconstruction of architectural sites on the territory of the historical settlement of the city held a meeting at the Executive Committee of Kazan. The Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin headed the meeting. The commission considered 12 projects, 11 of which will be submitted to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov for approval.

Ilsur Metshin noted that such working meetings are of great importance for the development of the city architecture. “The decision of Tatarstan President was absolutely correct to establish joint discussions of these issues - first in the architectural department, and then at the Mayor’s Office. The architecture of the city has become more interesting and clearer. Thanks to joint activities, we collaborate not only with local developers, but also with entrepreneurs from other republics and countries”, - the Mayor said.

The first site discussed by the participants of the meeting was a residential complex on Admiralteiskaya Street. According to Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina, the chief architect of Kazan, the team involved in this complex has done a lot of work, studied the history of the area and completed its project.

Sergey Sanachin, Honored Architect of Tatarstan, noted that the architecture of the site is good, but there are comments on the territory. The project was approved, giving the recommendations for improving the terrain.

The working group also approved the shopping and hotel complex on Peterburgskaya Street. During the discussion, Ilsur Metshin proposed to refine the project.

Projects of a multifunctional complex on Peterburgskaya Street, a 4-storey residential building on Moskovskaya Street, apartment buildings on Moskovskaya, Narimanova and Kurashova streets were approved.  In addition, the meeting participants approved the exterior design of the Kazanka substation and the concept of the development of the site bounded by Yakhin, Chernyshevsky, Gayaz Iskhaki and Moskovskaya streets. The project of a multi-level garage of the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers on Podluzhnaya Street has also been approved.

The concept of a residential complex on Dostoevsky Street was extensively discussed, in particular, the view of the building from Chekhov Street. After the discussion, the experts came to a common decision and approved the project.

The project of the hotel complex on Kalinina Street raised many questions by the participants of the meeting. The Mayor of Kazan instructed to change the design and refine this project.
