An agreement on the restoration of the monument has been signed.
(KZN.RU, May 22, by Ekaterina Andreeva) The Petzold (Alexandrov) brewery buildings at 97 Tukai Street in Kazan, which is an object of cultural heritage and belongs to the JSC Edelweiss Group, will be restored. An agreement to this effect has been signed. This was announced by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at a conference on the preservation of the historical center of the city.
As planned by the owners of the buildings, they may accommodate a shopping center or offices, a hotel, a café or a restaurant. According to the mayor, the agreement envisages restoration of historic building facades before the 2013 Universiade. The project should take two years to complete.
"I am sure that the renovated historic brewery will embellish Staro-Tataskaya Sloboda and become an attraction for both residents and visitors," concluded the Mayor.
For your information: restoration is proceeding at 119 sites out of the 269 properties designated for reconstruction as part of revival of the historical center of Kazan; 41 of them are cultural heritage objects. Repairs and restoration have been completed at 37 sites.
