A grant program to support teachers will be founded in Kazan. The winners
will get the opportunity to have an internship in leading Russian and foreign universities,
as well as to train on international educational online platforms. The Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin announced this decision at a meeting with representatives
of the city Association of Young Teachers at the Tatarstan National Library on
the eve of Teacher's Day. Irek Rizvanov, head of the Education Department of
the Executive Committee, was the moderator of the meeting.
Grant support to teachers and
school leaders of Kazan. The best teachers to train at leading Russian and
foreign universities. The director of the Kazan International School Niyaz
Gafiyatullin made this proposal. He noted that a similar grant program –the Algarysh
is already being implemented in the republic, but only 5-6 grants are allocated
for Tatarstan, while there are much more talented teachers. “I was lucky to get
the Algarysh grant and I received my master's degree in Switzerland. It would
be good to organize such grant programs in the city and to give teachers the
opportunity to study, while they could choose the direction for development
themselves”, - Niyaz Gafiyatullin said.
Ilsur Metshin supported the idea, noting that training
should be held in the best universities, while clear criteria should be drawn
up for the selection of candidates.
The head of the city initiated
a project to support young teachers. Ilsur Metshin proposed to
award a hundred young teachers with certificates of 15 thousand rubles for
additional training on the Coursera platform, where teachers of the world's
leading universities hold classes.
For Kazan teachers - online
and offline training courses from leading experts. The deputy principal of school
No.121, teacher of history and geography Maxim Nikolaev, made this initiative.
The teacher offered to hold training courses for young teachers. “I believe
that instead of sending 100-200 teachers to other cities, it will be cheaper to
invite speakers to Kazan,”- Maksim Nikolaev addressed the head of the city.
Ilsur Metshin noted that such classes, following the
example of the Made in Kazan project, should be not only for young teachers,
but also for senior teachers. “It is important that you talk about it, that you
have a desire to grow and develop, - Ilsur Metshin stressed. – You can list the
specialists to be invited and in November, if we have time, we can hold the
first seminar”.
Enzhe Usmanova, physical education teacher of school
No.3, on behalf of the pedagogical community made an initiative to help
teachers with the purchase of real estate.
The head of the city noted that this issue requires
detailed study. However, today Ilsur Metshin proposed to consider changes in
the terms of social mortgage for teachers, in particular, to take into account
work experience in the city. “We need to study this issue, every year there are
more people interested in social mortgage. We will discuss the new terms with
the Housing Policy Department of Kazan and Tatarstan and I will be ready to
come up with this initiative to Tatarstan President”, - the head of the city
said.
Ilsur Metshin also instructed to analyze other
possible support measures for teachers, in particular, to provide discounts for
attending cultural and sports events.
At the end of the meeting, the Mayor congratulated all
teachers on the upcoming professional holiday.
