On September 1,
almost 160 thousand Kazan schoolchildren will go to school– 11 thousand more
students than the year before. “The growing number of schoolchildren is a
serious challenge for all of us. Of course, we are encouraged by the increase of
the number of schoolchildren, at the same time it poses serious challenges for
us”, - Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said today at the Business Monday.
More than 17% of students will study in the second
shift
On the Day of Knowledge, two new schools will open in Kazan – “Unber” for
1501 children in the Art City residential complex and No.188 “Bionics” for 1224
children in the Salavat Kupere district. Despite the fact that new schools are
being built in the city every year, there are still not enough educational
institutions in the capital of Tatarstan. As of today, there are 193 schools in
the city, including 169 municipal schools, 79 out of them are most loaded. A
little more than 17% of students will study in the second shift from September
1, said the head of the Department of Education Irek Rizvanov.
“We are looking for any opportunities for the construction of schools, 40 land
plots are reserved in the general plan in the city. Unfortunately, there is lack
of necessary infrastructure: development of utilities is needed, somewhere it
is necessary to install tens of kilometers of water pipes, sewage, etc.
Nevertheless, this is all in our plans, and we are working on it. In
particular, we will work on the possibility of expanding educational
institutions”, - Ilsur Metshin said.
He cited the example of school No.93, school No.114 and the SOlnTSe school
– annexes were built in these educational institutions. The same solution will
be implemented in the school of the village of Salmachi.
