The first electrobus has started operating in Kazan in a test mode.
Eco-transport runs on the trolleybus route No.3, from the River Port to
Akademika Glushko Street. One of the first passengers was the Mayor of the city
Ilsur Metshin.
“We are thinking a lot about improving the ecology of the city. Electric
transport is the number one issue, because 75% of air pollution is caused by
cars. Now many of our buses run on gas-powered fuel. We hope that we will switch
from Nefaz buses to electric buses”, - the Mayor said.
The electrobus was produced by PAO KAMAZ company. The modern innovative
transport is designed for 80 passengers with 35 seats. The power reserve on
fully charged batteries is 50 km, the maximum speed is 75 km / h. The electric
bus is fully equipped with a digital dashboard, climate control and video
surveillance system, it has a double-glazed window. Special attention is paid
to disabled people – the low floor level, the ramp and a platform provide high
comfort for all passengers. The electric bus is absolutely silent. Now more
than 500 vehicles have been delivered to Moscow.
The Mayor also inspected an ultra-fast charging station for electric buses,
which was equipped at the River Port terminal stop. In 10-15 minutes, the
station allows to charge the electric bus up to 70%. Full charging (it takes 24
minutes) will be carried out at night on the territory of trolleybus depot
No.2. “The electric bus is able to safely complete the entire route and still
have a charge in reserve. It will not be able to discharge accidentally on the
way,”- said Ildar Shakirov, deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee.
The creators of the station also worked on the appearance of the equipment
– it was decorated with the tourist visual identity of Kazan.
Trolleybus route No.3 for the electrobus was chosen as the most popular
among citizens – it passes through districts of Kazan, so it is in great
demand, said the head of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise “Metroelektrotrans”
Aidar Abdulkhakov. After the presentation, the Mayor and other participants rode
several stops.
According to Aidar Abdulkhakov, the electrobus will run around the city for
3 months in the test mode. During this time, the experts of the Executive
Committee will collect comments of Kazan residents about the new transport, as
well as make their own conclusions.
