New pavement, benches, a playground and separate waste collection: the yard on Chetaeva Street is being renovated in Kazan

The improvement work under the Our Yard republican program is underway in Kazan. Among the objects- a large yard for several apartment buildings on Chetaeva Street in the Novo-Savinovsky district. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, got acquainted with the progress of the improvement.

I.Metshin was informed that in the yard of houses No. 31, 33 and 35 on Chetaeva Street the complex work will take place, which includes paving driveways, repair and installation of sidewalks, outdoor lighting networks, installation of benches and bins, trash enclosures, a playground with a sandy surface. 49.72 million rubles were allocated for all this purpose. To date, road works have been completed by 60%.

“The yard actually needs renovation. We were very much waiting for updates, and now we are happy with every improvement”, - the Kazan residents said in a conversation with the Mayor.

In total, this year, work on the Our Yard program is planned to be carried out at the yards with a total area of 524,000 sq.m in the amount of 2.3 billion rubles. As of today, road works have been completed at 19 yards, and another 131 are underway. The program has been completed by 30%. All works are being carried out in accordance with the schedule, the main works are planned to be completed by October.

In conclusion, I.Metshin called on citizens to participate in making decisions on the improvement of public territories. “We will improve everything, we will listen to you. We will open green areas, and we will put benches where needed, and we will equip playgrounds, but the order still depends on the residents. You need to live in good neighborly relations, talk to each other, and make your own decisions. We can set any rules, but if you don't agree among yourselves, there will be no effect”, - he said.

For reference, in 2020, the yards of 460 houses were renovated in Kazan under the Our Yard program.
