This year, six public spaces will be improved under the federal project
“Comfortable urban environment” in Kazan - the Tolstoy Square, a park at the
Salavat Kupere residential complex, a recreation area on Chaikovye (Seagull)
Lakes and an area near the Blue Lakes. The improvement of the embankment of
Lake Nizhny Kaban and the historical park in the center of Kazan - Black Lake will
also continue. For this purpose, 672 million rubles were allocated from the
republican budget.
“Six new landscaped public spaces will become a good follow-up
of our systematic work on the development of a landscaped, green city in Kazan.
Twenty years ago we determined the comfort of a residential area by the number of
shops nearby, while today such an indicator is the availability of parks or
squares within walking distance”, - said Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of the capital of
Tatarstan, at an operational meeting in the Executive Committee.
Park at the Salavat Kupere:
the activity zone will open this year
By numerous request from residents of the Salavat Kupere
residential complex, this year it is planned to create a park zone on the
territory of 6.4 hectares. “A challenging site in the area of multi-storey
development has been allocated for the construction of the park. Before the
start of the main works, it is necessary to carry out a large amount of
preparatory work there,” - I.Kulyazhev said.
The landscaping project divides the territory into 3
zones: the lake, the central square and the activity zone. Work on the
arrangement of the activity zone is planned to be carried out this year.
“At such new neighborhoods as the Salavat Kupere, where
we have a population of 20,000 people, such projects are long-awaited, - Ilsur
Metshin said. – This is the second large-scale project after the
Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest. Here we create a completely new format– the park
is developed in a marshland with a complex terrain. Nevertheless, the
architects enthusiastically took up the work in a dialogue with the residents.
Due to the interesting design and unusual terrain, the park should be
interesting”.
Chaikovye Lakes and the
Mirrors of Tatarstan: landscaping with preservation of the environment
Another landmark site of improvement is Chaikovye
Lakes on the territory of the Novo-Savinovsky district behind the city clinical
hospital No. 7. This year, it is planned to work on the eco-rehabilitation of
the lake with the improvement of the adjacent territory.
In the future, various sites for the rehabilitation
and recovery of patients, recreation of hospital staff, as well as for
residents living nearby will be organized here. The landscaping project
provides for the arrangement of areas for art therapy, aeroionotherapy, and
herbal medicine with tables for master classes. “This method of early rehabilitation
of patients has never been used anywhere and is unique,”- I. Kulyazhev noted.
Besides, this year it is planned to improve the
eco-cluster the Mirrors of Tatarstan near the Blue Lakes. According to I.
Kulyazhev, the project provides the maximum preservation of the existing
landscape and green spaces.
“At the Mirrors of Tatarstan Park, the main medical
principle of Hippocrates applies: “Abstain from doing harm”. This is a green
eco-corner that we want to preserve – said I.Metshin. – We discussed with the experts
how to implement the project. We will strictly follow their recommendations”, -
the Mayor concluded.
