The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin held a meeting on the
development of urban settlements. Iskander Giniyatullin, deputy head of the
Executive Committee of the city, reported on the current situation in
residential areas to the head of the city.
On the territory of Kazan there are 97 settlements with
almost 168,600 residents. In the utilities infrastructure, electricity and gas
supply is provided to consumers on a proper level. I. Giniyatullin said that
last year 52.7 km of high-voltage lines, 15.5 km of cable lines and 9
transformer substations were replaced. The installation of smart meters
continues.
Today, all the settlements of Kazan are supplied with gas,
with the exception of two. I. Giniyatullin informed that the Executive
Committee has already submitted applications to the Ministry of Industry and
Trade of Tatarstan for the inclusion of the facilities into the gasification program
of the republic of Tatarstan until 2030.
One of the challenging issues for the residents of the
settlements is the road infrastructure. The total length of roads in urban
settlements reaches 1,049 km, of which only a third is paved. More than 748.3
km require renovation or construction. This work is carried out under the
national road maintenance programs. This year, 22 roads will be repaired at ten
residential areas of the city.
Presently, 1,243 out of 1,791 streets are equipped with
street lighting. All the main streets of the villages covered with public transport
are illuminated. Within the funds allocated by the republican and city budget,
100% illumination of all streets of settlements can be achieved within five
years.
The water supply issue was discussed at the meeting.
According to the deputy head of the Executive Committee, the networks are badly
worn out at 37 residential areas. 24 residential areas are fully supplied with
water, 4 have a partial central water supply, and in 19 villages residents use stand-pipes
and individual wells.
In 2021, it is planned to build a water conduit from Pobedy
Avenue to Tsentralnaya Street in the village of Salmachi, construction of water
supply networks along Tatarstan Street in the residential area of Malye Klyki,
development of a project for the construction of a water conduit at the
Borisoglebskoe residential area. This year, it is planned to re-lay a water
pipeline with an increase in diameter in the village of Zalesny.
The issue of storage and removal of waste requires special
attention, the participants of the meeting noted. In total, 412 waste
collection sites are equipped in the zone of individual residential
development, almost all of them require renovation. The speaker noted that this
quantity is insufficient, and today it is necessary to determine the land plots
for the construction of new sites. The Mayor instructed to carry out this work
and report to him on the planned number of new waste collection sites.
