A meeting of the
Organizational Committee for the holding of the celebration of the 76th
anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War was held at the
Government of Tatarstan. The meeting was held by Tatarstan President Rustam
Minnikhanov. It was attended by Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin, Chair
of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin,
heads of municipalities, ministries and departments, veterans and
representatives of public organizations.
Rustam
Minnikhanov emphasized that special attention is paid to targeted work with
veterans of the Great Patriotic War and elderly citizens in the republic. “During
the pandemic, this work has become particularly important. Presently, 24,313
veterans and widows of the participants of the Great Patriotic War live in
Tatarstan, of which 601 people are veterans of the war.
Rustam
Minnikhanov reminded that in the year of the 75th anniversary of the
Victory, Kazan was awarded the honorary title “the City of Labor Valor”. Tatarstan
President instructed to develop excursion routes to memorable places, Tatarstan
President’s Press Office reports.
Guzel Sagitova, deputy
head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, made a report on this issue. According
to her, at the moment, special tourist routes dedicated to Kazan – the City of Labor
Valor have already been developed for visitors of the capital of Tatarstan.
G. Sagitova noted
that in 2021, the main task for the city is to highlight the labor feat of
Kazan residents, to honor the home front workers and war participants. On
behalf of the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, an Organizational Committee chaired
by the head of the Executive Committee was established in the city, which
approved the road map of the events. According to the speaker, some of them
have already been implemented. "The stewardship of 6 thousand veterans of
the Great Patriotic War and home front workers has been organized. Each of them
is assigned to the school and to the Kazan City Duma deputies in accordance
with their residence. In Kazan schools, expositions on the theme of “Kazan –
the City of Labor Valor” with the use of family archives of home front workers.
All the monuments in the city and towns have been put in order and landscaped, commemorative
events are held at the enterprises that worked during the Great Patriotic War,
and the home front workers are being honored,”- said the deputy head of the
Kazan Executive Committee.
Besides, Guzel Sagitova
shared plans on a photo exhibition “City of Labor Valor” in the Victory Park
and launch a special text video in public transport and malls, which will
inform the population and visitors of the capital of Tatarstan about the
awarding of the honorary title “City of Labor Valor” to the city.
In addition, she
called on Tatarstan President to support the initiatives of the Executive
Committee: to assign the official status of “Enterprise of Labor Valor” to
factories, to issue a commemorative coin “Kazan- City of Labor Valor”, to open
an interactive multimedia museum for children and teenagers, to hold a forum of
cities of labor valor and to decorate public transport stops at Kazan enterprises.
