Ilsur Metshin,
the Mayor of Tatarstan capital, met with residents of the Kirovsky and
Moskovsky districts of Kazan today. The meeting was held at the residential
area between Saban and Bakaleynaya streets. Presently, the yard improvement is
being carried out near the houses №1, 3, 5, 7, 7a on Saban street and № 44a,
46a on Bakaleynaya street. During a conversation with local activists, the Mayor
supported their proposal to organize a city competition for senior tenants and was
acquainted with their ideas for the further functioning of the renovated area.
“This year,
under the Our yard presidential program, we will improve the courtyards of 460
Kazan houses. We started with tentative steps: over the previous 5 years, we have
renovated 1.5 thousand yards. Today, the task is to renovate the yards of 4
thousand houses in 3 years”, - I.Metshin reminded. He also noted that the work
at the courtyards is carried out, taking into account the views and wishes of
local residents.
The renovation started in mid-June. A unified network
of roads, pedestrian zones, parking lots, playgrounds, and recreation areas is
formed from the separated sites. As of today, according to Oleg Kalimov,
Director of the housing and utilities Management Company of the Moskovsky
district, the work is 70% complete.
Many active residents live in this residential area.
Senior tenants presented Ilsur Metshin their practices for organizing yard
life, events, and self-improvement of territories. Many of them demonstrated
examples of courtyards that were landscaped by residents. “I am proud that we
have such active residents. When we started such programs as Green record,
Blooming Kazan, and Our yard, we tried not only to improve the city for
residents and visitors, but also to awaken the desire of citizens to arrange
their gardens and entrance groups. When this desire takes hold of many people,
landscaping acquires a completely different quality, a different effect”, - I.Metshin
said during a conversation with residents.
Senior tenant on Okolnaya street 3, Lutzia Albusheva,
offered to support the activity of the house managers by organizing a grant
competition for them. The head of the city supported the idea. “Money, of
course, is always not enough, but we would like to
support active senior tenants”, - he noted.
