The opening of a new Kurgan funeral complex for 147.5
thousand burial places is planned at M-7 highway in Kazan in mid-August. This
was announced today at a staff meeting at the Executive Committee of Kazan by
Marat Ishkin, head of the funeral services department.
Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin noted that the opening of
the new funeral complex is an important matter for the city. “We received a
large number of requests from citizens. All the necessary conditions will be
created at the new funeral complex, thanks to Tatarstan President Rustam
Minnikhanov and the Government of the Republic”, - I.Metshin said.
“The construction of a burial complex is a long-felt
need. On one hectare, 2 thousand 880 plots are provided for burial. We expect that
it will cover the 30-year demand”, - said Marat Ishkin.
Also, on the territory of the Kurgan complex will be
located an office, a utility area, a rotunda and two rooms for funeral
ceremonies. Besides, it is planned to build a mosque and a chapel, and later –
to build a funeral home with a cremator.
