(KZN.RU, August 12, Alina Berezhnaya). On August 10, the second stage of the charity event “Pomogi Sobratsya v Shkolu” (Rus. “Help to get ready for school”) started in Kazan. Any resident of the city can join the action. Ilnar Khidiyatov, the head of the Kazan Department of Education, announced it today at the Business Monday. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, instructed the heads of district administrations to ensure that not a single family with first-graders that needs support is left without attention.
The action “Pomogi Sobratsya v Shkolu” began on June 1 on International Children's Day. During this time, 2 thousand students, including more than 1.5 thousand first-graders, have already received help. “The children received not only school bags and school uniforms, but also gift certificates for the purchase of stationery”, said I. Khidiyatov.
More than 50 large enterprises of the city, dozens of entrepreneurs, as well as public organizations, volunteers, deputies of the Kazan City Duma and the State Council of the RT helped the children to get to school.
As I. Khidiyatov said, any Kazan citizen can contribute to a good deed. To do this, you need to purchase school supplies and take them to reception centers located in five large shopping centers of the city at the addresses: Peterburgskaya Street, №9, Zorge Street, №11b, Ibragimov Prospect, №56, Pobedy Prospect, №91, Yamashev Prospect, №46. You can also provide assistance by contacting the Department of Education by phone number: 8(843) 292-70-50.
In addition to financial assistance, institutions of additional education, culture and sports, volunteers and members of children's public organizations hold festive events, concerts, performances, exhibitions, competitions and flash mobs for children in each district of Kazan within the framework of the action.
Ilsur Metshin urged everyone to take part in a charity event and help children get ready for school. “The 1st of September is always a holiday for children, especially for those who go to first grade for the first time. All families have different opportunities, so this action is very important. I ask the heads of the districts to ensure that not a single family that needs support is left without attention. And let us all take part in the action together”, concluded I. Metshin.
In total this year, over 137 thousand students will go to school, including 18 thousand of first-graders, on September 1.
