(KZN.RU, February 25, Alina Berezhnaya). Energy service contracts were concluded in the sports complexes “Ak Bure” and “Triumph”. They will double the lighting in the sports halls and also save more than 4.5 million rubles. Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairperson of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, said this today at the Business Monday talking about the development of the sports infrastructure of Kazan. Ilsur Metshin instructed the committee to draw up a report on the work on energy service contracts for 2019 and the next five years by March 15.
Over the past 10 years in Kazan, the number of sports facilities has increased by 1.5 times. Over 6 years, 93 sports grounds have been built in Kazan for the amount of more than 253 million rubles. This year, another 15 sports grounds will appear. 46.2 million rubles have been allocated for these purposes from the national budget. Last year, 12 sports grounds worth 44.5 million rubles have been built within the republican program, among them 5 futsal fields, 3 volleyball and basketball courts, 2 sports grounds with exercise machines, and hockey boxes with artificial turf.
Also last year, 3 large sports facilities appeared in Kazan as part of social programs involving federal co-financing: a swimming pool on the territory of the sports complex “Raketa” in Derbyshki and 2 new football fields with artificial turf at the stadium “Lokomotiv” in Yudino and the territory of the sports school “Savinovo”.
The reconstruction of the stadium “Lokomotiv”, one of the oldest sports facilities in the city, will continue in the spring. “The President of the RT has allocated funds in the amount of 209.8 million rubles for the reconstruction of treadmills and the gym”, said the speaker. Residents of Yudino and “Salavat Kupere” will have the opportunity to play football, do cross-country skiing, orienteering, athletics, and hold district sports events.
According to S. Vostrikova, the site of the sports school “Savinovo” became the center of mass sporting events both for the sports school and for the nearby educational institutions. Physical education classes are held there by students of two secondary schools №146 and №113. However, special coverage is needed for a full-fledged work of the stadium, where about 450 athletes are involved, as well as the construction of an administrative building for locker rooms, she said.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, instructed to study the territory in detail and create a development plan. “This neighborhood is very large, think what can be done according to the regulations. For example, to build some multifunctional object”, noted I. Metshin.
Svetlana Vostrikova also informed about the overhaul of municipal sports facilities in Kazan. “Unfortunately, there is no republican overhaul program in the sports industry. However, we managed to convince our core ministry to allocate funds for the overhaul of our three facilities in 2018”, explained S. Vostrikova. For example, last year the showers were repaired in the children's health center “Ekran”, the cover of the youth sports field “Strela” was replaced, and the youth sports school “Kasatka” was overhauled.
A landmark event for the life of the city was the opening of the first city chess school in December last year. Young chess players came to a completely renovated building that has not seen repair for 65 years.
The overhaul of sports facilities is carried out in the framework of energy service contracts. S. Vostrikova told about the replacement of lighting on the ice arena “Basko”. “We have more than 2 times improved the illumination of the ice arena, this will allow us to hold official sports competitions of various levels there”, explained S. Vostrikova. In addition, in January of this year, the same energy service contracts were signed at two more sports facilities: the sports complexes “Ak Bure” and “Triumph”. The contracts were signed for 7 years. This will double the lighting in the sports halls and save more than 4.5 million rubles.
Ilsur Metshin advised not to save on children's health, ordering to draw up a report on the work on energy service contracts for 2019 and the next five years by March 15.
Speaking about the plans of this year, S. Vostrikova noted the completion of the construction of a new indoor arena with the installation of an awning facility for a futsal at the stadium “Tasma”, and an ice arena in Yudino. In addition, it is planned to build a swimming pool on the territory of the sports school "Smena" of the sports complex “Forward”, as well as 15 sports grounds according to the republican program.
The reconstruction of facilities, in particular, stadiums “Raketa” and “Lokomotiv”, will also continue in Kazan, and the football pitch of the Central Stadium will be replaced. According to S. Vostrikova, all this will allow 46% of the population to be involved in the sports life of the city.
The Mayor of Kazan noted the promising plans. “46% is another step, and we can safely say that half of the population systematically engages in sports, physical education and a healthy lifestyle”, said I. Metshin.
Today, citizens engage in sports at 2053 facilities, including 15 stadiums, 971 flat structures, 381 gyms, 63 swimming pools, and 623 non-standard sports facilities.
