(KZN.RU, February 25, Alina Berezhnaya). The construction of the ice arena in Yudino is in its final stage; the facility’s readiness today is 95%. Sergey Mironov, the head of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts of Kazan, announced this today at the Business Monday.
A hockey box has already been installed on the facility, the compressor unit is being commissioned, and all the necessary equipment is being placed. According to Sergey Mironov, the opening of the ice arena is scheduled for March of this year. The arena will include a youth sports school “Ak Bure”, where children can play hockey and figure skating.
Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, and Oleg Belozerov, the chairman of the Board of OAO “Russian Railways”, laid the puck at the foundation of the future ice arena on the day of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Yudino. The decision to build an ice arena in the settlement was made at a meeting of the President of the RT in March last year with residents of the settlement and employees of the Kazan Territorial Department of the “Gorky Railway”, a branch of “Russian Railways”.
Speaking about the development of the infrastructure of Yudino, Sergey Mironov mentioned the topic of reconstruction of the stadium “Lokomotiv”. Thus, a fitness center, an entrance, and arrangement of track and field athletics will be repaired at the first stage. On August 29 last year, a new football field was built at the stadium as part of the initial reconstruction stage.
Yudino continues to develop rapidly. This year, the MFC and the teenage club will open there. “2018 was a turning point for Yudino, the celebration of the 100th anniversary became a powerful incentive for the re-set of the whole territory. About 1 billion rubles were invested in the development of infrastructure, including the renovation of roads, houses, and public spaces”, said S. Mironov.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted that new sports facilities will be a powerful impetus in the development of the sports life of the settlement. “There will be completely different conditions for sports now with the ice arena and the “Locomotiv”. Yudino will not yield to the city center in terms of sports facilities. This is what we meant about Kazan having equally accessible conditions regardless of geography”, said I. Metshin.
