(KZN.RU,
December 25, Alena Miroshnichenko). The ceremony of awarding scholarships of
the Mayor of Kazan in 2018 was held today in the City Hall. Ilsur Metshin, the
head of the city, presented commemorative diplomas to 68 talented and promising
youth representatives from the capital of Tatarstan. Nominal scholarships were
also received by 30 students of the music and art schools.
“Today the
intellectual elite of our city has gathered in this hall. I boldly call you so,
despite your young age and the fact that you have the greatest achievements
yet, I am sure. You have already achieved great heights, each in his own area,
and made a bright application for his uniqueness. Therefore, I have a
reverential attitude to the participants in the competition for the nominal
scholarship of the Mayor of Kazan”, said the Mayor to those present.
This year,
221 applications were submitted for scholarships. The authors of 71 of them
went to the on-site stage, where they had to present their projects to the
members of expert commissions in two sections: social and humanitarian,
technical and natural-science. 38 people had won: 16 post-graduate students who
received scholarships in the amount of 30 thousand rubles, 20 university
students who received 20 thousand rubles each, and 2 college students who were
encouraged by scholarships of 10 thousand rubles each.
“Awarding
scholarships is not just a recognition of merit, it is our credit of trust,
which is a great responsibility in choosing winners. Therefore, it is
doubly pleasing that the annual acquaintance with new participants in the
competition confirms my confidence in the future of our city. I see that Kazan
is inexhaustible of minds, talents and inspires further work for the benefit of
our city and its inhabitants. We confidently move only forward”, noted Ilsur
Metshin.
Since 2003, scholarships have also been given to students of
children's music and art schools, who receive excellent marks and are
participants and winners of All-Russian and international competitions. This
year, the Mayor of Kazan encouraged 30 students of the schools with
scholarships of 10 thousand rubles for excellent study and creative
achievements. In response, they presented the Mayor with some of their best
works and prepared musical and vocal performances, demonstrating their talents.
The nominal scholarships of the Mayor of Kazan have been
awarded annually on the eve of the New Year since 1994. The competition
assesses the results of educational and research work of students and graduate
students over the past year. About 70 prominent youth representatives receive
awards each year. For example, Andrey Grachev, who was awarded in 2007, has now
become a professor at the KNRTU-KKhTI. He received his scholarship for the
development and introduction of a method for processing low-grade wood from
agricultural waste into liquid fuel, which later received worldwide
recognition. His work was continued by a fellow of this year, Milaush
Khairullina, a graduate student of the same university. She developed a
technology for processing waste wooden packers.
A lot of work is devoted to the development of the city and
the urban environment. Elizaveta Khaziakhmetova, a student of the KSUAE, noted
that architecture is of great importance in the city. In her work, a young
researcher examined the influence of architectural space on the psychological
and emotional state of children with disabilities. “Architecture is not just
about buildings, it’s about what’s inside and what’s around. And the most
important thing is people. Similarly, the best scientific and practical works,
the authors of which have gathered here today, are primarily addressed to a
person and are aimed at making Kazan’s life comfortable and of current
interest. We, future specialists, are still students today. But very soon, we
will start to change our city, make it even more beautiful. I sincerely want to
believe that such contests and grants will give students even more
opportunities to develop and move forward, and the best ideas can be realized”,
the owner of the Mayor of Kazan Mayor’s scholarship shared her emotions,
thanking the organizers and the head of the city for support.
I. Metshin highly appreciated the attention of the authors
of various projects to the city problems and the desire to find the most
effective solutions. Already today, many developments have been brought to
life, developed, or have become the foundation for further research. “Thanks to
you and your work, Kazan has every chance of becoming the most comfortable city
of our Motherland. I want to thank the teachers, supervisors, parents of
scholars, as well as rectors of universities, school principals for their work.
There are no losers here, you and our city are winning”, concluded the Mayor.
“We believe that everyone will keep the diploma received
from the hands of the Mayor for many years in the family archives. When you are
celebrated, it indicates that the supervisor sees your work, notices everything
that you are doing, and gives you the opportunity to work further in this
direction. I want to wish our young talents to keep the high level of their
university and city, where you get an education that will become the basis of
your future career”, said Ilshat Gafurov, the rector of the KFU. He thanked the
leadership of Kazan for creating a comfortable learning environment, as it also
becomes a competitive advantage for universities of the capital of Tatarstan.
