Ilsur Metshin: “Holidays are always a hard-working time for us”

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, instructed to pay particular attention to the safety of access roads and parking lots of shopping facilities, driveways, and New Year sites.

According to the approved schedules, the around-the-clock duty of responsible personnel and emergency crews is organized in Kazan in the Committee for External Improvement and administrations of the city districts, as well as at enterprises responsible for ensuring the vital activity of the entire improvement complex. The maintenance of artificial structures, underground and above-ground pedestrian crossings, bus stops, territories adjacent to Christmas towns, parks and squares has been taken under special control, said I. Kulyazhev.

Traditionally, car traffic is increasing on New Year's holidays, people are getting ready for the holiday. Therefore a huge influx to large shopping centers is expected, said Ilsur Metshin. “All the nearby territory should be cleared for access, all driveways and parking should be ready to receive citizens. We also must carry out work on anti-terrorism preparation”, said I. Metshin. He added that it is necessary to keep control over the organization of entrances to the New Year sites and driveways.

As part of the prevention of terrorist threats, targeted briefings were held at enterprises involved in the maintenance of artificial structures and public roads. The “Kazenergo” organized the duty of the crews united by the dispatch service to ensure a stable outdoor lighting system. In addition, the company's experts monitor the work of the New Year illumination.

“The central Christmas tree in the capital of Tatarstan will open on December 27 on the square in front of the Family Center “Kazan”. On the same day, an ice town will open that will receive guests and residents of Kazan until the beginning of March”, reminded I. Kulyazhev.

I. Kulyazhev spoke about the work of public toilets on holidays. All municipal public toilets installed in the city will work daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Toilet facilities, which are located near the Christmas town, will work until 2 pm from December 31 to January 2.
