(KZN.RU,
August 27, Alsu Safina). Since 2019, it is planned to begin repairing the
asphalt covering of school territories in Kazan as part of the program for the
overhaul of yards. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, announced this today at
the traditional city August Conference of Educators, which took place at the
CLC Lenin.
Major
repairs in the school did not provide the improvement of the territory of the
educational institution. The supervisory authorities issue prescriptions to the
school because of the unsatisfactory condition of the asphalt pavement and the
fence. Ilsur Metshin marked that all schools with orders of supervisory bodies
for courtyard territories will be given special attention.
According
to the Mayor, a repair program for yards will include the repair of the asphalt
covering of school territories in Kazan in 2019.
Thanks to
the support of the President of the RT, all 136 schools older than 30 years
have been repaired in Kazan.
128
thousand students will go to Kazan schools in the new academic year, including
17 thousand first-graders.
“Despite
the objectively explainable decline in the birth rate, characteristic of the
whole country, Kazan is still among the leaders of other cities with over a
million population. The baby boom generation is growing up, when for 9 years,
Kazan beat its demographic records every year”, said Ilsur Metshin. Thus, 121
thousand children were trained in Kazan schools last year, 128 thousand will be
in the new school year, and in seven years, in 2025 – 195 thousand that is 61%
more.
Over the
past few years, there has been a sharp increase in the number of first-graders.
If last year, more than 15 thousand children went to the first grade, this
year, there are 17 thousand first-graders. I. Metshin noted that there are six
parallels of the first grades in schools, and even more in some.
The capital
of Tatarstan is actively building schools: two ones were built at the beginning
of the last academic year, three ones will be delivered on September 1 this
year. Kazan occupies a leading position in this indicator among the cities with
over a million population. Nevertheless, schools are still in short supply.
This year, 14% of schoolchildren (18 264 people) will continue to study in the
second shift.
“Today we
face the need to build schools as actively as we built kindergartens five years
ago”, said the Mayor. He added that 27 new land plots were reserved for new
schools in different districts of the city.
According
to Ilnar Khidiyatov, the head of the Department of Education, one of the
solutions to the problem of transition to one shift might be the construction
of outbuildings to existing institutions. Another issue that the Mayor of Kazan
received from pedagogical workers was also related to the possibility of
expanding the area of one of the Tatar gymnasiums.
“Recently,
the government issued a decree, which allocated funds for design work for the
Tatar gymnasium №17, the school № 26 and №165. This issue is being
resolved”, said I. Metshin.
