(KZN.RU, July 2, Ksenia Shvetsova). Graduates of medical universities will help to solve the problem of the personnel deficit in medical institutions of Kazan. More than 160 graduates have been employed for the last year. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said at the Business Monday that it is a great help to current doctors and a way to solve the problem of the lack of personnel.
Ilnur Khalfiev, the head of the Department of Health, said that last year the percentage of the staffing of the city network of medical institutions among doctors increased by 2% and amounted to 78.9%. This is the maximum figure for the last 5 years. Over the past year, 161 graduates of the medical school were employed: 62 people after accreditation, 78 people after an internship, and 21 people after the residency training. “There is a good tendency to rejuvenate the staff of doctors. For a year the proportion of doctors of retirement age decreased by 10%,” said I. Khalifev.
At the same time, if the staff of district doctors has grown to 87.5%, the problem with the shortage of narrow specialists is not solved so quickly. I. Khalfiev told that for the last two years, the number of cardiologists in polyclinics has increased from 15 to 32 doctors, and doctors of primary oncology offices – from 7 to 22. Thanks to this, the number of patients on dispensary observation in urban polyclinics for the year increased from 29% to 37%. According to the results of the previous year, the death rate from diseases of the circulatory system decreased by 3.5%, and from oncological diseases – by 5.8%. The overall mortality decreased by 3.8%, said the speaker.
Ilsur Metshin reminded that thanks to the implementation of the republican program on the overhaul of medical facilities in Kazan, the conditions for providing medical assistance have significantly improved. And solving the issue of doctors' shortages is another step towards improving the healthcare system.
“Conditions for treatment are created, now the main question is who and how will be treated. The lack of personnel, especially in providing narrow specialists, remains a serious problem. But we are also taking steps in this way,” said the Mayor. He expressed confidence that the training of young specialists in medical universities will eventually solve the problem of the lack of staff. Ilsur Metshin again reminded that the level of staffing of district medical doctors of the primary medical network reached a maximum in recent years. “This is especially important since the interaction of the children's population and the adult population with the medical institution begins from the precinct network”.
