(KZN.RU, July 2, Ksenia Shvetsova). An additional election of deputies of the Kazan City Duma of the third convocation will be on September 9. This is due to the early resignation of the powers of deputies Vladislav Kadyrov and Dmitry Anisimov. Reception of documents from candidates has already started; it will last until July 30. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, instructed to carefully organize all arrangements for the preparation and conduction of elections today at the Business Monday.
“The nomination of candidates is already beginning, new deputies are to be elected. I ask the distinguished colleagues and heads of the districts to carry out all the necessary work at the highest level, so that as a result of the election campaign, the mandates have been won by worthy residents”, said the Mayor.
Farit Garaev, the chairman of the Election Commission of Kazan, said that there are several stages of the election campaign, such as the announcement of elections, nomination, and registration of candidates. The agitation period will be from August 11 to September 8.
The acceptance of the documents on the nomination of candidates has already started. The territorial election commissions of the Aviastroitelny and Sovetsky districts have been accepting them since June 23, the reception will last until July 30. The city Election Commission has approved the list and forms of documents required for registration. All necessary information for voters and candidates is posted on the page of the city and territorial Election Commission.
F. Garaev reminded that candidates for deputies who decided to participate in the elections, as well as candidates nominated by political parties that had not previously participated in the distribution of deputy mandates, must present the necessary number of signatures of voters collected in support of the nominated candidate for registration. According to the Severny electoral single-mandate constituency, 192 signatures of voters should be submitted, which is 0.5% of the number of registered voters in this single-mandate constituency. According to the Arbuzovsky electoral district, the number of necessary signatures of voters is 196.
“35 precinct election commissions of 399 people will take part in additional elections”, said the chairman of the Election Commission.
In conclusion, F. Garaev reminded that in connection with the early termination of the powers of Deputy Marat Sadykov, there will also be additional elections for a deputy of the State Council of the RT of the fifth convocation in Chuikovsky single-mandate electoral district №8. The elections are scheduled for September 2.
