(KZN.RU, April 17, Alsu Safina). The reports of school principals to teachers and parents began in Kazan. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, heard today one of the first such public appearances in the secondary general Tatar-Russian school №31 of the Novo-Savinovsky district. The choice of this school, which takes the 54 place out of 57 in the rating of general educational institutions, was made for a reason. The head of the city deliberately visited the educational institution to see on the spot how to help the school to move to a new level.
The Mayor of Kazan spoke at last year's August conference of educators with the initiative of conducting similar reports of school principals. He drew attention to the fact that teachers' conferences show the ratings of schools, which are evaluated by several parameters. In particular, the quality of education, national education, educational work, the upbringing of a healthy lifestyle, the quality of the development of cadres and others are taken into account. In the rating for the 2016-2017 school year, the school №31 is at 54 place out of 57 among general education schools. “We wanted to find out what internal reserves are there, listen to the director, who is an experienced leader, to see where the Department of Education, the district administration, the Executive Committee can help”, said the Mayor.
392 pupils are enrolled in 17 classes in the school №31. Over the past three years, the number of students has been increasing every year, according to the director Liliya Muzafarova. There are 28 teachers at the school, 22 of them have the highest and first qualification categories.
L. Muzafarova noted that one of the important issues for the school is the quality of education. “Unfortunately, we cannot achieve the desired results in the quality of education, although there is a positive dynamics in the progress”, said the director. The quality of teaching dynamics in comparison with 2015-2016 academic year was 1.2%, in academic performance – 0.1%. The school conducts consultations, additional classes, 7 out of 11 students have liquidated their debts. To improve the quality of education, the school has developed the program “Path to Success”. Students are engaged in a small Academy of Sciences, which is aimed at attracting them to research and development.
Ilsur Metshin noted the importance for the director of the school, together with the pedagogical staff, to set the task to improve the performance indicators of students. “Children are our greatest wealth. We will do everything so that they discover their talents, receive education, learn skills, know how to make friends and cherish friendship”, said the Mayor.
I. Metshin drew attention to the fact that extracurricular education does not stand aside either. “We know this school as a center of cultural and sports life”, he said. “The school is fulfilling the task that we set before the director's corps. It is to educate children outside of school hours as well”, believes I. Metshin.
Liliya Muzafarova said that tournaments are held “Leather Ball”, “Golden Puck” on the playgrounds. The hockey team of the school “Sparta” took prizes in regional and city games for several years in a row. “Sections work in school and in institutions of additional education and cover 100% of students”, noted Liliya Muzafarova. There are sections of karate, badminton, football, hockey, circles of artistic and aesthetic, social, pedagogical and military-patriotic directions. Students participate in the volunteer movement.
The Musa Jalil's literary museum operates in the school. Last year, the daughter of the hero-poet Chulpan Zalilova visited the museum. Every year, more than 1 thousand students of nearby schools visit the museum. Today the museum was visited by the Mayor of Kazan. The school principal drew attention to the fact that the students would like to make an expedition in the footsteps of Musa Jalil. Ilsur Metshin supported this idea.
After the speech, the parents and teachers were able to ask her questions.
Ilsur Metshin noted that it will be necessary to work on improving the material and technical equipment of the school, as well as on resolving the issue with fencing, which requires repair and is designed to ensure the safety of students.
At the end of the meeting, Ilsur Metshin thanked the pedagogical staff of the school for their work. “We hope that the future results will be better. The more bold task will be put, the better the result will be achieved”, summed up the head of the city.
Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Ilnar Khidiyatov, the head of the Department of Education, also took part in the event.
