8 facts of interference in the work of election commissions have been suppressed on the elections day

(KZN.RU, March 19, Alsu Safina). About 2000 law enforcement officers and attached forces of Kazan were involved in the protection of public order on March 18. Elections of the President of the Russian Federation were held within the law, no excesses were allowed, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, today at the Business Monday. According to him, transparency and legality became the main results of the election campaign.

Alexey Sokolov, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Kazan, spoke about how the elections were held. “During the election period, 8 facts of interference in the work of the election commission were prevented in the city, 2 facts of a willful holding of printed materials related to elections, and one – the dissemination of campaign materials in violation of the requirements of the election legislation. 45 leaflets and 47 booklets were seized”, he said. As A. Sokolov noted, 11 administrative proceedings were instituted on these facts.

“Now it is already possible to report that specially trained, prepared, paid people came to question the legality on the sites, to create a nervous situation, to get out of control”, said the head of the city. “There were such facts. Everything was within the law to the credit of our election commissions, the Internal Affairs Directorate, and representatives of the district administrations. There were no excesses that could question at least some points in the election campaign in Kazan. This is the most important, right and necessary result for us”.

All objects were examined by cynologists before the beginning of voting on March 18, all polling stations were equipped with stationary and manual metal detectors.

As Alexey Sokolov noted, a large complex of events was held in the capital of Tatarstan on the eve of the weekend. Along with the elections of the President, the football match of the Russian championship “Rubin” – “Spartak” took place on March 17.

In particular, the search for terrorists was activated. The work was carried out with leaders and active participants of the fan movement in order to prevent illegal actions. Particular attention was paid to transport facilities.

Traffic Police patrols are reinforced on the main directions of entry and exit of transport. The work has been organized to check incoming foreign nationals, including those from countries with increased terrorist activity. At present, the preventive measures “Illegal migrant” are being implemented. From March 1 to March 16, 900 events were held in the places of migrants’ stay, 313 of them were brought to administrative responsibility, and 15 were expelled from the country.

Work has been intensified in the sphere of drug trafficking. Almost 16 kg of various types of drugs were seized during the inspection of the car of a drug trafficker on March 17.

10 football fans of “Spartak” are brought to administrative responsibility on the day of the match. About 1.5 thousand police officers and attached forces carried out the protection of public order during the match, said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Kazan. On March 17-18 more than 4 thousand employees were involved in the protection of public order.

The Mayor of Kazan thanked A. Sokolov and all the personnel of the Internal Affairs for the work done. “The load was colossal”, marked I. Metshin. “Nevertheless, you accomplished the task!”.
