(KZN.RU, March 18, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, together with his wife Gulnara took part in the elections of the President of the Russian Federation. He urged all citizens of Kazan to choose the future of their country by dropping the ballot into the ballot box at the polling station №270 of the Russian-Tatar secondary school №129 of the Privolzhsky district.
Elections of the President of the RF are held today, on March 18, at 450 polling stations in Kazan. In total, 906586 voters live in the city, as of January 1, 2018. The voting is conducted from 8 am to 8 pm.
Arriving at the polling station, the Mayor of Kazan registered, received a ballot paper, went to the polling booth, where he checked the candidate and dropped the ballot into a transparent ballot box. After that, he received a special bracelet with the inscription “I voted”.
“A very important day in the life of the country, our republic, our city. We choose the President of Russia, our president. We choose our future, our tomorrow”, said the Mayor. He thanked those who had already participated in the vote and urged all those who hadn’t to come to their polling station, despite the windy weather.
After the voting, the Mayor talked to sellers who opened trading tents near the polling station with food and household chemicals. 242 similar trading floors were opened near the polling stations throughout Kazan. He walked around the tents, compared the prices, and also purchased several goods.
The bracelet “I voted” is issued to all voters and gives the right to free travel by public transport throughout the day and is a pass to the concert at the stadium “Kazan Arena” with the participation of Valery Meladze, Salavat, Egor Krid, Alvin Gray, and local pop stars.
56 buses will run out of the residential areas that are remote from the premises for voting, the first routes started at 7.15 am. The city public transport operates on the schedule of the working day despite the fact that today is Sunday. In particular, the routes through the stadium “Kazan Arena” will operate until midnight.
