(KZN.RU, March 12). Today Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the RT, visited the renovated museum of the famous Russian writer A. Gorky and the great opera singer F. Chaliapin (Kazan, Gorky Street, №10).
Leila Fazleeva, the deputy prime minister of the RT, Asgat Safarov, the head of the Office of the President of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Airat Sibagatullin, the minister of Culture of the RT, Olesya Baltusova, an assistant to the President of the RT, and others also took part in the event.
A large-scale reconstruction was carried out in the institution in 2016. Marianna Gavrilova, the director of the museum, told the President of the RT about its results. According to her, the previous exposition, which was created in the late 80's of the last century, was less in terms of area and the exposure. “We created our new exposition two years ago. At that time, our museum was called the Literary and Memorial Museum named after Gorky. But in fact, it was a museum of Gorky and Chaliapin for 50 years. Now it so happily coincided that we are talking about the museum of Gorky and Chaliapin on the birthday of the museum”, said Marianna Gavrilova.
Today, 40 thousand exhibits are in the collection of the A. Gorky museum and 4 thousand in the collection of F. Chaliapin. In total, about 700 different items are exhibited in the museum: photographs, letters, personal belongings of Alexey Gorky and Fyodor Chaliapin.
After examining the expositions, Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a master class on baking bread, organized for children in the cafe “Traktir u Gorkogo”.
Then the President held a meeting with representatives of the creative intelligentsia of the republic. He positively assessed the results of the reconstruction of the museum of A. Gorky and F. Chaliapin in his opening speech. He expressed confidence that the updated expositions will be of interest to the guests and residents of the capital.
At the same time, Rustam Minnikhanov noted the need for transformations in the museum environment of Tatarstan as a whole. “Work in leading foreign museums is organized in a completely different way. We need to strive for this, adopt the international experience. Our museums have great potential but we need to popularize them, actively work to attract visitors. It should work according to the most modern requirements and forms. We have a rich history, a huge museum fund”, marked the President of the RT.
During the conversation, Rustam Minnikhanov was also told about the successes of the Tatarstan cinema. The production of two full-length films “Mulla” and “Baigal” was launched today. “Everything is not so smooth but we try to produce good films. We have the potential. The Union of Cinematographers is growing: there were 39 people, now there are 60. We need to develop this sphere”, added Ildar Yagafarov, the chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the RT.
“We want to develop the concept of “Cinema in walking distance” so that we can easily show our Tatarstan films in all municipal cinemas and throughout the country”, added Milyausha Aituganova, the director of the GBUK RT “Tatarkino”. “Today we have a qualitative leap in production. Many of our films take prizes at various international festivals”.
In addition, Rustam Minnikhanov discussed with Rashid Kalimullin, the chairman of the Union of Composers of the RT, the possibility of organizing an exhibition of ancient Turkic musical instruments that Tatars used at the time: kylkubyz, saz, dumbyra, and others. In the future, R. Minnikhanov offered to conduct classes on teaching to play these instruments, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
