(KZN.RU, February 28, Alsu Safina). The share of small and medium-sized businesses in the gross territorial product in Kazan is almost 38%. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, who took part in the reporting session of the Kazan City Duma today, this is not enough, because the city's potential is greater. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted that the city development strategy set the goal to bring this figure to 50%.
The number of employed in small enterprises is 180 thousand people, this is 29% of the population employed in the economy, said Ilsur Metshin. The turnover of small enterprises amounted to almost 350 billion rubles. The number of tax revenues from small and medium-sized businesses to the city's budget amounted to 3.3 billion rubles, this is almost 30% of the total amount of tax revenues.
The head of the city reminded that a number of measures are being implemented to support small and medium-sized businesses in Kazan: compensation of the credit rate, preferential rent of municipal premises, electronic auctions for the placement of trade and advertising objects, and optimization of administrative procedures.
A new scheme has been adopted for placing 895 places for the deployment of non-stationary trade and catering facilities. The agricultural fairs were organized, which were weekly in the autumn of 2017. “22 rural areas and 36 agro-companies have sold their products to the amount of 540 million rubles for citizens reduced by at least 20%”, said the Mayor.
“38% of the gross territorial product share of small and medium-sized businesses is not enough. You have much more potential”, believes the President of the RT. “We need to do a lot to turn our attitude towards small business”.
“In general, we must create a system. First of all, to educate future entrepreneurs, to include educational programs, to provide advice, to form future representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. These are people who will represent the middle class in the future”, noted R. Minnikhanov. “This is a systematic work, there are many educational programs for this today. This should be our priority”
The head of the republic also announced the results of monitoring the investment climate, which, in particular, is carried out within the framework of the activities of Timur Nugumanov, the Commissioner for the Rights of Entrepreneurs. Thus, 33% of the entrepreneurs interviewed in Kazan faced administrative barriers, 37% – in Naberezhnye Chelny. Insufficient support from the authorities, weak business infrastructure, an abundance of inspections, and a prejudiced attitude are among the voiced problems faced by entrepreneurs. According to the President, these moments must be eradicated.
“We should be an example not only for the republic. In general, many of our initiatives to support small and medium-sized businesses are being broadcasted to many regions”, marked Rustam Minnikhanov.
