January 22). Each appeal of Kazan residents to the city authorities through
various communication channels including through the state information system
“People's Control” contributes to the improvement of the city. “Thanks to the
response from the authorities, more and more citizens are showing their
initiative, there are volunteer initiatives. We always welcome them, it is a
benchmark in our work for us”, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, on the
Business Monday today.
Elena
Toscheva, the head of the Department for Control and Anti-Corruption Work, said
that in 2017, more than 40000 appeals to the Mayor of the city, the head of the
Executive Committee, his deputies were received through the Internet reception,
during the direct communication between the Mayor and citizens, and government
agencies. In addition, the messages received by the mass media are quickly
processed. More than 22 thousand appeals of citizens came through the system of
“People's control”, which is 8 times more than in 2012 when the service was
opened.
“Constant
dialogue with the population is already something, without which our daily work
is impossible”, said the Mayor of Kazan. “300000 appeals come to us every year
through the “Open Kazan”, another 40000 calls – through other channels of
interaction with the population, plus the “People's control”. The numbers are
growing every year because the population sees that there is a feedback, that
there is a solution to the questions sent”.

Toscheva also reported that 73.3% of received appeals were solved for the last
year (that is more than 16 thousand, which is 3% more than in 2016).
“The
numbers in the “People's Control” speak for themselves. 73% of solved issues
and growth compared to last year is a good result”, marked Ilsur Metshin.
However, it would be impossible to achieve such indicators without republican
and city programs, which have no analogs in neighboring regions. “It's one
thing to organize a system of interaction, and another is when you simply don’t
have the resource to fulfill those requests from our population”, believes the
Mayor. He expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the republic and Rustam
Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, for the opportunity to double the amount
of work performed in the yards last year. I. Metshin drew attention to the fact
that a large amount of work is being done in the city - repairs of village
roads, an overhaul of housing stock, kindergartens, schools, yards, and
polyclinics, and this work will continue.
As Ilsur
Metshin noted, numbers and percentages are important. “Control is needed, it is
necessary to understand how we move, how we grow in one direction or another”.
Nevertheless, the city authorities have another incentive to work. “Our city is
improving after every realized control card, after every appeal of the
concerned citizen”, said the Mayor. “And the satisfaction of the population
with our work in this direction is precisely the key factor in our evaluation”.

of Kazan expressed his gratitude to all the active and concerned residents.

the user Oleg B. “Today's appeals are a litmus test of our work with the
