Ilsur Metshin instructed the Executive Committee to strengthen the work with the youth

(KZN.RU, January 22, Mikhail Chentsov). During the traditional Business Monday, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, commented on the successful results of the Kazan police garrison, noted at the meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RT in 2017. The contribution of the Executive Committee and heads of districts to the positive dynamics of reducing crime in Kazan was also noted. At the same time, the Mayor focused attention on the need to strengthen work with the youth.

“Many crimes were solved due to the fact that we managed to track down intruders on the video cameras that we installed last year. This is our joint systemic work with law enforcement agencies and it will be continued. But, we react not only to positive moments but also alarming ones. First of all, this concerns the moment when the minister spoke about the revival of the groupings”, said the Mayor.

Ilsur Metshin noted that after the millennium celebration all gradually forgot about the “Kazan phenomenon”. “Today, the capital of Tatarstan has a completely different reputation. But if we don’t work even with smallest signs, we can roll back to troubled years”, said the head of the capital of the RT. The Mayor of Kazan cited the destabilization of the situation in a number of schools in Russian cities as an example. Last week several crimes occurred in educational institutions across Russia. On January 15, two 16-year-old teenagers staged massacres at an educational institution in Perm. Two days later in January one student hit another with a knife during a break in one of the villages of the Chelyabinsk region, and on January 19, a teenager attacked pupils with an ax at a school in Ulan-Ude.

According to Mayor of Kazan, compared to the 90ies, today there are all conditions for the development of young people in Kazan. So a thorough analysis of the causes of negative social phenomena, if they arise in the youth environment, is needed. “I would like you to pay attention not only to juvenile crime and groups. We see what happens at the beginning of the year in various schools, unfortunately. Experts, psychologists who deal with this on an ongoing basis raise the question of the impact of the Internet in the first place. We do a lot in terms of youth employment: sports, leisure, teenage clubs, country camps, but we cannot pretend that everything in this area is perfect”, said the head of the city.

“We need to consult our colleagues from federal, republican authorities, public organizations, and movements. There is a reason not just to think but to join forces. Therefore, I want, dear colleagues, that you most seriously analyze all sources of information on this issue”, Ilsur Metshin ordered the Executive Committee.
