(KZN.RU,
December 12, Mikhail Chentsov). This evening, the first charity ball-masquerade
of the Law Faculty of the Kazan Federal University was held in the City Hall.
All funds collected during the event will be transferred to the Fund of Angela
Vavilova. One of the guests of the evening was Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of
Kazan, the chairman of the Board of Guardians of the Law Faculty of the KFU.
Girls in
magnificent dresses and their cavaliers gathered in the Column Hall of the City
Hall. The rich decoration and bright light seemed to transfer the young
students to the atmosphere of solemn receptions held here in the XIX century.
Professional dancers, who circled the audience in the Vienna Waltz, performed
for the participants before the beginning of the ball. All the action took
place to the accompaniment of the chamber music orchestra “New Music” with Anna
Gulishambarova, an artistic director and conductor, an Honored Artist of the
RT, as well as to the reading the excerpt from Leo Tolstoy's famous work “War
and Peace”. The evening was timed to the 190th birth anniversary of the great
Russian writer.
After the
performance, Ilsur Metshin, being graduated from the law faculty of the
university himself, addressed the students with a welcoming speech. The Mayor
congratulated the students on the Day of the Constitution and noted that the
law faculty has achieved many successes in its 200-year history. “This is the
first charity ball in the latest history of our faculty. We are very pleased
that the initiative came from the students, that such impulses of the soul of
our young colleagues are being realized. Let it become a good tradition”, said
Ilsur Metshin.
The head of
the city also highly appreciated the charitable component of the ball and
marked that one of the priorities in the work of the city's leadership is the
project “Good Kazan”. He reminded that Kazan took the second place among the
“good cities” after St. Petersburg by the results of the all-Russian
environmental action “Marathon of Good Deeds”.
“I wish you
all good in your heart, your life, and your actions. Be healthy physically and
spiritually. I wish you happiness and success, and let our law faculty
prosper”, concluded the Mayor.
The
beginning of the ball was announced following the words of the Mayor of Kazan.
Dresses rustled, heels clinked, and the students stepped out onto the floor of
the Column Hall. Riyaz Minzaripov, the first pro-rector of the KFU, made a
welcoming speech after the first dance. He thanked Ilsur Metshin for his
support and expressed the hope that the charity ball-masquerade will become an
annual one.
All funds
collected at the event will be sent to the Charity Fund named after Angela
Vavilova for the construction of a new hospital of the Kazan hospice.
Masquerade masks, calendars with images of outstanding graduates of the Law
Faculty were among the items that were in the set purchased by guests of the
evening.
Damir
Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Azat Abzalov, the
head of the Department of Culture, Liliya Bakulina, the dean of the Law Faculty
of the KFU, and others also took part in the event.
