(KZN.RU,
November 29, Alsu Safina). The problem with the smell, which spreads from the
treatment facilities of the “Vodokanal” to nearby territories, will be solved
in Kazan by the summer of 2018. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, told
journalists about it during the press tour today. Now the installation of protective
caps, equipped with an air purification system, is carried out on biological
sewage treatment facilities. According to the Mayor, after the work is
completed, the Kazan citizens can forever forget about the smells from the
treatment facilities.
Numerous
representatives of the republican and federal media were demonstrated how the
work is going on in the area where primary sedimentation tanks are located.
Andree
Egorov, the director of the “Vodokanal”, showed the Mayor and journalists at
the stands where a steady technological smell is formed. He recalled that last
year the President of Tatarstan and the Mayor of Kazan decided to eliminate
this serious problem, after which a corresponding project was developed. It
provides for the overlapping of technological objects of treatment facilities
with removable structures that will prevent the spread of technological odor.
25 structures are subjects to the shelter. In addition, the project provides
for an air purification system.
The works
on primary settling tanks have already begun. On the question of Ilsur Metshin
about the schedule of works, Andrey Egorov said that there are no backlogs.
Next year, all 25 buildings will be closed with caps. It should be noted that
the floor panels and trusses are made of stainless steel and have a long
service life.
The Mayor
of Kazan noted that the water treatment facilities of the “Vodokanal” are “one
of the oldest headaches of the city’s economy”. “The problem is old.
Thankfully, we found a decision”, said Ilsur Metshin. “Several large meetings
were held with the President of the RT. By early May 2018, we are planning to
complete the work”.
The Mayor
drew attention to the fact that not only residents of the Privolzhsky district
feel the smell. Sometimes, it reaches the center of the city. “The facilities
were different, it was all built 50 years ago”, added the Mayor. “In the
remaining six months, it is necessary to carry out and complete the work and
forget about smells from the treatment facilities forever”.
It is
noteworthy that the solution to the problem was found in the Year of Ecology,
and the project itself corresponds to eco-standards. The process has three main
stages of purification: mechanical, biological, and chemical. As a result, the
water returning to the Volga corresponds to all necessary sanitary and hygienic
indicators.
“This is a
very serious project for us. We solved all these issues without increasing the
cost for the population”, marked Ilsur Metshin. The total cost is 573 million
rubles.
Another
problem to be solved is the sludge. The next stage of modernization will be the
construction of a shop for thermomechanical processing of the sludge, which is
formed during cleaning. Thanks to the new technology, the sludge fields will go
to the past.
“The
project documentation has been prepared, it will be examined in December”, said
the Mayor. “We hope to leave the sludge fields behind before the end of 2019”.
For today,
about 300 tons of sludge is produced every day. The new shop is designed with a
capacity of 400 tons.
Marat
Salakhov, the first deputy director of the “Vodokanal”, told reporters how the
process of sludge dewatering and exporting to sludge fields is being carried
out.
The
mechanical dewatering of the sludge is structurally a cascade of filter
presses. In the existing shop, the sludge is dewatered to 75% moisture.
The
director of the “Vodokanal” said about the fate of the existing sludge fields
that “the preliminary work is carrying out on the choice of technology,
pre-design work”.
I. Metshin
called the SPS “Zarechnaya” the third important task that faced the city
authorities. “You are familiar with this problem, it is already in the final
stage. We will open capacities for the entire district, and we have large
construction sites there”, he noted.
“It is
three such huge problems, invisible to the city dweller. The solution will
ensure the reliability of the “Vodokanal's” operation and will enable
construction companies to invest in a large construction of micro-districts and
complexes”, concluded the Mayor.
