I. Metshin: “There are actual deeds behind our words”

(KZN.RU, November 28, Anton Nozdrin). The XXVIII conference of the Kazan local branch of the Tatarstan regional branch of the All-Russia political party “United Russia” was held in Kazan. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan and the secretary of the Kazan local branch of the party, held a conference. The main issue on the agenda was the results of work in 2017 and tasks for the upcoming period.

205 of the 215 delegates were present, there was a quorum for making a decision. Natalya Grechannikova, the head of the Executive Committee of the Kazan local branch of the United Russia party, Andrey Kondratiev, the head of the regional Executive Committee of the Tatarstan regional branch of the party, Rimma Ratnikova, the deputy secretary of the Tatarstan regional branch of the party, deputies of the State Duma of the RF, the State Council of the RT, and the City Duma also took part in the conference.

Speaking before the audience, Ilsur Metshin noted that the new composition of the governing bodies of the party’s local branch was chosen at the reporting and election conference a year ago. The effectiveness of the work has significantly increased this year. “We focused on the systemic party activities, the implementing of programs and receiving orders from our residents”, said I. Metshin.

I. Metshin noted that the central commission of the party positively assessed the quality and effectiveness of the local branch. “We are leading the rating among local party organizations of the republic by all indicators for the third quarter in a row”, said the head of the city. At the same time, now it is necessary to strengthen active work with citizens, including with activists of organizations. “There are actual deeds behind our words. The pace of development demonstrated by Kazan is the most vivid proof of this”, said the Mayor of the city.

The secretary of the local branch of the party told about some achievements in the work. He noted that the implemented set of measures within the framework of the development strategy allows providing positive dynamics on a number of important indicators. Thus, 101.5 billion rubles of investments in fixed capital were put into the economy of Kazan for 9 months of the current year, which is 2.3% higher than in the same period last year. The volume of delivered housing increased by 9% and amounted to more than half a million square meters, positive dynamics in demography is preserved. “Kazan is one of the country's leaders in providing comfortable living conditions”, said Ilsur Metshin.

The Mayor noted that an unprecedented amount of funding for road works was allocated this year. Thanks to the support of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, more than 3 million square meters of asphalt cover were repaired, including 175 roads, 340 yards, and 46 driveways.

I. Metshin noted that the overhaul program is combined with other programs when it’s possible. “In recent years, 82 multipurpose sports grounds have been delivered, work-out bars are installed in 80 yards”, said the Mayor.

According to the head of the city, achievements and successes were possible due to the existing political model and coordinated work of all levels of government. “We are one team. We are directing all our efforts to create and achieve a common goal, to improve the quality of people's lives”, he marked.

I. Metshin reminded about the upcoming presidential elections in Russia. “The nearest agenda includes preparations for the election campaign. The party cannot stay away from these matters. We are responsible for the implementation of election campaigns, close interaction with local voters”, said the head of the city. He noted that the republic continues its sustainable development, occupies a leading position in the country on many socio-economic indicators. I. Metshin said that the implementation of the republican programs, aimed at improving comfort and quality of life, continues in Kazan. An overhaul of housing, roads, yards, schools, and kindergartens, and a renovation of public gardens will be continued.

Ilsur Metshin appealed to fellow party members to use more modern feedback mechanisms and involve citizens in supporting their initiatives. “It is necessary to interact more actively with voters and public institutions. Deputies need to know problematic issues, their decisions should always be on the agenda”, said the secretary.

The delegates approved changes in the composition of the Local Political Council of the Kazan local branch of the party in connection with the rotation and elected delegates to the XXVII conference of the Tatarstan regional branch of the United Russia. At the end of the conference, Ilsur Metshin presented party membership cards to the new members of the United Russia party. Letters of gratitude were presented to Andrey Belyakov, the director of the group of companies “Briz”, Evgeny Kuznetsov, the head of the Zakamsky territorial state establishment “Glavinveststroy”, and Marat Ishkin, the head of the Ritual Services Department of the Kazan Executive Committee.
