(KZN.RU, November 10, Alsu Safina). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor
of Kazan, held a working meeting on to the eco-rehabilitation of the Lebyazhie
lakes system, on the shore of the Lake Bolshoe Lebyazhie. As the Lake Svetloe,
it is now actively filled with water. Today, 350 thousand cubic meters of water
have been filled to the Bolshoe Lebyazhie and the Svetloe Lebyazhie so that the
depth of Lake Bolshoe is already about 3 meters. The filling of reservoirs is
conducted in a planned mode.
“We need to pour about 170 thousand cubic meters of water to
fill the lakes to the design mark”, said Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the
Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement.
According to him, the filling of the lakes Svetloe Lebyazhie and Bolshoe
Lebyazhie with water will be completed by the end of November, if there is no
severe frost.
For now, the water doesn’t enter only the Maloe Lebyazhie.
The culvert from the Bolshoe Lake to it is currently closed by a latch. After a
spring flood, the pump will work again as soon as the situation in the filled
lakes stabilizes, the water will continue to flow into the lake system. The
latch between the Bolshoe and the Maloe will be opened and the water level in
Maloe Lebyazhie will also begin to rise. At the time of the work beginning, the
Maloe Lake was the only one not dried up but now the water level in the Bolshoe
is higher.
“It is planned to fill the bowls of lakes with about 1
million cubic meters of water together with the Maloe Lebyazhie”, said I.
Kulyazhev. Ilgiz Latypov, the deputy general director of the “TAIF”, Sergey
Mironov, the head of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts’ administration,
Albert Zaripov, the deputy director of the “Tatmelioratsiya”, and others also
took part in the meeting.
Now the specialists of the “Tatmelioratsiya” are controlling
the process of the water filling. “Tatmelioratsiya” is a company that prepared
a project for eco-rehabilitation of the lake system and carried out dredging
and waterproofing works there.
Previously, these natural lakes existed at the expense of
surface waters. The catchment was carried out from the entire adjoining
territory. Subsequently, the water balance of the Lebyazhie Lakes was disrupted
during the construction of roads and industrial structures and they began to
dry up. During the eco-rehabilitation, the Svetloe and the Bolshoe Lebyazhie
were significantly deepened: in total, about 400 thousand cubic meters of soil
were removed from their bottom. After that, a waterproofing shield was laid on
the bottom of these lakes. Due to this, the water from the bowl of lakes will
not go to the sand. A layer of 50-70 cm of soil was laid on top of the shield.
Only after the completion of these works, water was launched in the Svetloe
Lake from the Izumrudnoe Lake with the help of a pumping station. The water
passes through the connection into the Lake Bolshoe.
