(KZN.RU,
November 3, Alsu Safina). Since November 7, the assortment of the menu in the
Kazan schools will expand and the volume of portions for pupils of junior and
senior classes will differ. Today, media representatives were told about for
what it was done during a press tour at the lyceum №78 “Farvater” of the
Privolzhsky district of Kazan.
The
assortment of menus in the schools will expand with the beginning of a new
quarter. Guzel Ananieva, the general director of the Department of Food and
Social Catering, said that according to the wishes of the parents instead of
the only fruits (apples), children will be offered oranges, pears, and bananas.
As for the fish, there is not only pollock but also pink salmon, hake, cod in
the menu.
The range
of meat dishes will expand. From November 7, pupils will be offered meat (pilaf
with meat, stew, baked meat), turkey.
The choice
of drinks will become more diverse. If earlier schoolchildren could drink only
tea or a compote mix, now drinks from freshly frozen berries, as well as
apricots and dried apricots will be in the dining rooms.
According
to Guzel Ananieva, together with the state farm “Maysky”, the question of
supplying fresh vegetables, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, is under
consideration.
It is
noteworthy that vegetables and fruits should account for half of the daily ration
of schoolchildren, milk and sour milk products – more than 20%, carbohydrates
and proteins – about 10%. At the same time, 70% of the needs of the daily diet
should be replenished exactly at the time when children and adolescents are in
school.
Together
with the expansion of the menu assortment, a differentiated diet will be
introduced for schoolchildren of different ages. The volume of portions of main
courses for high school students will be 200 g, and salads – 100 g.
Luisa
Gubaeva, a dietitian, noted that proper nutrition is one of the most important
factors that affect the development of the child's body. This suggests that
food should be full and varied. In addition, the food should be high-quality,
sufficient in volume and caloric content and cause the child a sense of
fullness.
The cost of
food will also change. For primary school students, the cost of one-time meals
will increase from 58 rubles to 62 rubles, two-time – from 80 rubles to 88
rubles. The cost of food for pupils of 5-11 grades will increase from 58 rubles
to 65 rubles.
Journalists
also were able to learn about the work of school restaurants, to see clearly
what the set of dishes looks like with one-time and two-time meals for school
children, and taste dishes from the school menu. Representatives of the media
were showed how the main menu can look like.
G. Ananieva
reported that the coverage of hot meals for schoolchildren is about 93% for
today.
This year
repairs were carried out in the dining room of the lyceum №78 “Farvater”, where
a meeting with journalists was held, and the school joined the project “School
Restaurant”. In total, the project is being implemented in 22 schools. Repair
of one school costs 7 million rubles. “In the long term, we would like to
transfer other schools to this mode”, said Guzel Ananieva.
One of the
features of the school restaurant is the double distribution line. This allows
avoiding long queues and serving schoolchildren faster.
Guzel
Ananieva said that the school restaurant in the lyceum works according to the
lunch box system: the dishes are cooked centrally at the plant, and then they
are brought to educational institutions where they warm up to 60 degrees.
Alfiya
Urmancheeva, the director of the lyceum, noted that the number of schoolchildren
covered by hot food increased after the changes, and the format of the school
restaurant is more attractive and interesting for schoolchildren.
