(KZN.RU,
October 9). The implementation of state youth policy is an unconditional
priority in our activity. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, said
this today at a meeting of the anti-terrorist commission in the RT, dedicated
to counteracting the ideology of terrorism and extremism, national and
religious extremism and xenophobia, as well as a criminal subculture. The event
was held in the Kazan Kremlin.
Mintimer
Shaimiev, the State Councilor of the RT, Alexey Pesoshin, the prime minister of
the RT, Farid Mukhametshin, the chairman of the State Council of the RT, Asgat
Safarov, the head of the Presidential Administration of the RT, Ilsur Metshin,
the Mayor of Kazan, members of the anti-terrorist commission, heads of
ministries, departments, organizations, and municipalities, representatives of
territorial federal structures took part in the meeting.
In his
opening speech, Rustam Minnikhanov marked that extremism and terrorism have
become one of the most dangerous problems of our time, which is topical even
for Russia. “Today, extremist organizations and associations, non-traditional
religious groups, various environmental, fanatical, and other protest movements
are carrying out their activities. Their representatives are engaged in
propaganda activities, they distribute literature, hold various lectures and
presentations, actively involve young people in their ranks”, said the
President of the RT.
Rustam
Minnikhanov said that this year 24 extremist crimes and 5 terrorist ones were
registered in the republic, committed by leaders and active participants of
youth associations. More than 70 young adherents of radical neo-Nazi ideology
were brought to administrative responsibility.
“Undoubtedly,
it is much better to conduct the prevention of extremism and terrorism among
young people than to eliminate the consequences of such events”, said Rustam
Minnikhanov.
“A wide
resonance in the society was caused by demolitions of Tatar cemeteries in Kazan
and Zelenodolsk district, crimes committed by neo-Nazis in February this year”,
said the President. “In addition, we cannot but be disturbed by the situation
with the so-called “mining” of malls, schools, airports, and other facilities
that swept the country immediately after the municipal elections”.
Further,
Yuri Kamaltynov, the deputy chairman of the State Council of the RT, Andrey
Pominov, the first deputy minister of Education and Science of the RT, and others
made presentations, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
